The story of Bridal Veil Falls is part of the allure. Located in Nantahala National Park on Hwy 64 just outside of Highlands NC, this falls at one time had the distinction of being the only falls in NC which you could drive behind. Alas, you may no longer drive behind the falls because of concerns when the area ices... More

This is right off the street, unfortunately we visited when there was not much water, but it had some ice and icicles and that was nice for the kids.

You can't drive under the falls right now, guess the ground is too unstable? But you drive past it anyway and go "that's cool".

With low water table and inability to drive under the falls like usual, wasn't as grand of a visit as usual. Hopefully they will return to "drive under the falls" ability soon. See bridal veil and dry falls together, they are very close to each other.

Not much water on this falls when I passed... hard to say that it was an eye stopper. Can imagine when the flow is better,

Cute little Falls you can see while driving to Dry Falls. Has a nice little spot where you can pull over and get out of your car. No walking.

It would help to know where this waterfall is in advance of arrival as parking is limited with no abundance of exit/entry space for the roadway. This waterfall, to me, is unique in that while it does not have a long fall for the water, or a large volume, it has historically allowed for vehicle passage under the fall. That... More

I visited in the summer when the locals were crowding the falls, sliding down the rocks, & showing the tourists the best way to go about safe fun. The chilly water offered a nice reprieve from the heat!

I'm sure in summer it's very impressive and it's cool to drive behind it (the reason I'm giving it a 4). In the winter it isn't very impressive and for understandable reasons. No charge. It's right off the highway. The first of 3 waterfalls in a sequence on US 64. When it's in full force im sure it's awesome for... More
