What a great climax to this hike. We got here in the middle of the day on a sunny 70 degree beautiful day. We got fantastic pictures and would recommend it to anyone.

Nice panoramic views to be sure...but similar views are yours for the taking throughout the region without driving quite so far or a steep uphill climb. Don't get me wrong, I love Max Patch (went there with a church group from Gatlinburg almost 40 years...More

Although the gravel road to get there can be a bit slow, the views were definitely worth the trek to get there!

It would be about 7 miles away/around 20-30 min. at a campground store on Meadow Fork Rd. No facilities at all at Max Patch.

No cost. Max Patch itself is a bald. 360 degree view for miles once on top. You can hike either direction on the Appalachian trail and be in a forest within about 1/2 mile.
