We had been on many lobster cruises but this was the abolute best and most informative. The Captain made this so much fun. He was not only so knowledgeable but incredibly funny. We were with a tour group and he brought many of us into the fun. The scenery was beautiful. We were served lunch and it was the best lobster ever-so fresh and perfectly cooked. This was one of the highlights of our tour and should not be missed. The crew was very professional.

We enjoyed a lobster learning and eating cruise. It was absolutely fantastic! I grew up around lobsters and I learned some things. The owner (I think) was a wonderful communicator. Did some fun things as part of his talk. The lobster was delicious

A highly commercial cruise where the presentation is entertaining and somewhat amusing and which shows you how to shell and eat lobster Acadian style. A good introduction to lobsters however there is no opportunity, as suggested, to participate in the fishing and catching of lobster.

The Captain entertained the guests throughout the cruise. We learned how to open and eat a freshly cooked lobster on the boat. Friendly staff. We had an awesome 2 hour tour.

Forget about those lobster restaurants in towns like Baddeck, and make a reservation for this lobster experience. Not only do you have a nice boat ride and a delicious lobster meal, the captain is a bit of a showman and provides an entertaining experience telling of his time as a lobster fisherman and rules/regulations set by the government. All the while presenting the information in a humorous and entertaining way. The best part is that he demonstrates how to break apart eat a whole lobster. Believe me, it is an art. The lobsters on the boat are super-fresh and sweet and once you know the techniques, the meat comes out in chunks. It is an entertaining as well as educational experience along with a very good meal.

While on a 11 day Tauck tour, one of our stops was for the 2 and 1/2 hour Shediac Bay Cruise lobster boat that included lunch. Captain Ron has been doing this for many, many years and is a great instructor as well as an entertainer. This was one of the most fun things we did on our tour. Try not to order chicken for lunch or you might be singled out. I noted you could still do it on a rainy day because it is inside except for the viewing platform on the upper deck. You might want to take a rain coat. We did not have any children on the cruise but I am sure they would enjoy it.

TripAdvisor identifies two cruises in Pointe-du-Chene, NB: Croisieres Shediac Bay Cruises, the other Shediac Bay Cruises. Perhaps [Shediac Bay Cruises] is a lunch-included lobster harvesting educational cruise? Still, the education about the culture and customs of those who work the lobster harvesting industry is enlightening. This is grueling work, many long hours during the season, and maintenance of boats and lobster traps when the cruises don’t operate. Contemporary lobster traps are designed to auto-release undersized crustaceans. If mooring lines break and a mature lobster is in the trap, the door is engineered to disintegrate after a few days freeing the creature. The harvesters respect the lobsters and the sea, the source of their livelihoods. On the educational cruise, crew members earned my respect. I also tossed out a little humor: Why do the Québécois use only one egg to make an omelette? Because one egg is un œuf☺

Since the cruise is at Pointe-du-Chene Wharf, I noticed an adjacent boat named “Pointe Taken” an obvious reference to Pointe-du-Chene, as indicated by the accompanying photo.
