The Wright Bros Memorial is great if you can catch a park ranger talk. The park rangers are very informative, looking at the displays by yourself does not tell you alot. The visitor's center is currently closed for renovations and will be closed for 18mos. The replica of the Wright flyer is currently in Raleigh, NC. There is a large... More

Really wanted to see this bit of aviation and US-ingenuity history, but found that the Visitor Center is under renovation. In it's place is a double-wide trailer with very limited history offerings. Pictures, but no planes! And a Gift Shop! Admission is $7 per person even while renovations are in progress. In our opinion, not worth it. According to the... More

This was a great place to visit. It cost $7/person. The only thing is it is under construction right now so you really can only visit the gift shop, the two building the wrights lived and worked in, and then the monuments and the replica airplane at the top of the hill. It was still worth the $7 to see.... More

It was really cool seeing where the Wright brothers practiced their gliding, then succeeded at flying.

My wife and I were in the Outer Banks for a family wedding but are always interested in learning about historical sites/events. We spent approximately two hours getting accurate and interesting information about the Wright Brothers, their background, driving force and passion for the idea of motorized flight. This museum, the actual place where it occurred and the artifacts contained... More

We recently visited here. The visutirs center is closed for renovation but the National Park Service has set up a temporary visitor center with gift shop that is more than adequate. Make sure to climb the sand dune to see the monument and the location of the Wright Brothers glider tests. Then walk the pathway that is marked with monuments... More

What a wonderful memorial. There is a lot of walking, especially to the monument which is on top of a hill, but the view is beautiful. Lots to see here.

Stopped to see the memorial while doing a little run around our rented condo. I didn't realize how close the condo was to the memorial, and I had always been curious about it. Got some great photos with the statues and the memorial itself. I loved the plane with the statues surrounding it as if we were right there with... More

Nice visit with friends, the welcome center has a lot of information and it was really cool to walk the flight path and see what the brothers used as their work shed. The monument is beautiful and has a great view.
