Great beach views interspersed with a few sites from the battle to overtake Fort Fisher. If you are not a beach person this is a great site to view the beach and enjoy the ocean for a little while.

We drove down Pleasure Island to take a look at Fort Fisher. What we found was a beautiful park with beach access, a Civil War Historic Site and a museum. Lightly trafficked at this time of year, I highly recommend taking the time to visit.

Fort Fisher State Recreation Area is located at the southern end of the Outer Banks. Nice area with a rocked seawall, and a clean beach. Good parking. Close to aquarium and ferry to Southport.

Yes. And if you purchase a pass for both beaches it is a little cheaper. I hope this helps.
