I have done this twice in the last month with 2 different sets of house guests. I loved it and they all loved it. Calm and relaxing with great narration from the captain. Comfortable pontoon boat with roof for shade over the entire boat. You can't see most of Lake Lure from the road so this is the only way... More

I wasn't sure what to expect when we paid our $15 and walked out to the pontoon boat. The tour guide was informative and humorous. We stopped many times in our 1 hour and viewed the homes and learned the history of the lake.

We had a great time riding around on Lake Lure on a covered pontoon boat for an hour. The views were gorgeous. We learned about the history of the area from our entertaining captain. Lake Lure certainly lived up to National Geographic's finding it one of the top 10 prettiest manmade lakes on planet Earth.

Found out this summer that the cabin used in the movie Dirty Dancing is no longer there. But still, being on Lake Lure and knowing that parts of the movie were filmed here, makes me wish that Patrick Swayze were still alive, that Jennifer Gray hadn't had a nose job, and that there was still a glimmer of hope for... We enjoyed a great tour of the lake with a "side" of history. A day on the lake is always a great day!! :) The hour tour is a good investment of your time. Learning about how the area and the lake came to be with Dr. Morse's investment was an added bonus. Looking at the various array of houses... More

Very poor business practices, they only care about their own corporate bottom line. This Florida based company doesnt care if you have spent 2 hours driving to take their tour. They won't sell tickets over the phone. They only take walk- in booking.i am sorely disappointed in their mismanagement and mistreatment.

Really relaxing chance to get an overview of the lake and the homes built on it. Basic tour and good introduction to the area

We've been visiting Lake Lure for years...and always planned to take the boat tour. And never did. This past weekend, we took the plunge...and thoroughly enjoyed. The guide was very knowledgeable and shared awesome stories of the Lake's history (including some behind-the-scenes insight into the filming of Dirty Dancing). I cannot recommend enough...

Our tour guide "Nancy" was very knowledgeable about the lake and mountains. We took lots of photos of the beautiful homes and mountains. Met some nice people. Had a wonderful time.
