I love hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway and in the Boone / Blowing Rock area. This is the BEST view of any hike I have done. 360 degree view at the top looking many miles in each direction. Great view down into Linville Gorge...More

This is one of the best hikes I’ve done in the area between Linville and Boone. It’s spectacular. It’s not at all easy on you or your car to get to the vistas that will reward, but man is it worth the trip. After a...More

This trail is a nice steady uphill climb, bring a walking stick. It's a very clear trail walking amongst the woods until you see the clearing to an incredible view! It will take about 20 minutes each way plus however many hours you want to...More

What a beautiful, scenic trail in the Linville mountain area. So quiet and nicely structured trail to make want to take as much time as possible enjoying it. ,

This was a great hike. The trail was well worn and easy to follow. I am an active 71 year old and had to take four short catch my breath stops on the way up but it was not overly strenuous. The payoff at the...More

Wonderful short hike with a reward of expansive gorge views! 90 mile views, large open granite outcropping that handles crowds well. Last short section fairly steep and worth it! Beauty at 4,000 feet that should be on anyone's list of fav hikes!

The hike to HB is not too bad and worth every step. 360 degree views of Linville Gorge and Table Rock. The hike is fine for younger kids who like to hike. Def. worth the time.

After totally getting lost, we were finally able to find Hawksbill Mountain (FYI take a right at Ginger cake road and stay on the road to the left, and you'll eventually find it!) The hike itself is moderate--we were able to climb it quickly to...More

We hiked this trail in the late morning and had an enjoyable time-except for the swarm of bugs at the very top that prevented us from going to the outer edges. The views were spectacular and you could see for miles and miles on this...More

One of our favorite hikes in the region, the Hawksbill Trail has some of the best views of the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area. The hike is 2.4 miles roundtrip, and spends quite a bit of time climbing in elevation (700 feet in 1.2 miles). We're...More

Don't put it in the GPS because it takes you to Linville Gorge. Instead put Table Rock In the GPS. The trailheads are very close, so you will see hawksbill trailhead before table rock
