It is worth the trip to get up to the lookout. Breathtaking views and a great place to picnic. But the road up there is very rough!! We made it in our Lexus but I would not try it in a low sports car.

If you don't mind traveling a long way along a dusty, bumpy dirt road, you will be rewarded with an incredible view of the Linville Gorge, Tablerock and Hawk's Bill Mountains. Take your camera! Oh, you can also take a picnic...great place for a picnic.

I’m so glad we kept going down the long, winding and very bumpy dirt road because the view totally makes it worth it. This is a must see! It is indescribably beautiful! The pictures just don’t do it justice.

One of the greatest views to see just off the Blue Ridge Parkway (North Carolina) - the Linville Gorge, 1800 ft. below the overlook, across from Sitting Bear, Hawksbill, and Table Rock Mountains. Spectacular.

Beautiful place to visit! Views are amazing and visiting in spring with new foliage and trees blooming was great but my favorite time to return would be fall to see all the leaves changing! I could imagine that would be most awesome time to come!

View Is awesome. Looks like a picture. Surreal. My favorite view in North Carolina. Worth the drive. Not a long hike just a short walk from parking.

This has to be one on the most spectacular views in the South Eastern United States. Very much worth the 4 mile drive to the paved walkways to reach the views.

We started to drive up the day before but it was raining so we gave up and decided to save our car and it’s tires. The next day we walked up the gravel road. It is a pretty steep walk at times, so we definitely...More

Wiseman's View, according to the North Carolina Gazetteer, was named after William Wiseman, an early settler in the 1700s. He was from London.
