Old North State Winery started as a cooperative in 2002 and has since evolved into a winery owned by two families with one vision. Our vineyards were established on farms that have been in our families for generations. We hope you enjoy the culmination of our dreams, our devotion to our farmland, and our passion for our wines produced at Old North State Winery. Most of our wines start out as luscious wine grapes grown on Yadkin Valley North Carolina family farms. We are the Old North State Winery, Inc. located in Mount Airy, in the headwaters of the Yadkin Valley AVA. Wine, beer and fine foods are our passion and our legacy.

Fabulous Food!

Went for a wine tasting and ended up having some amazing appetizers and sides! Wine was delicious, staff was very friendly and the whole vibe was laid back and relaxing.

This was basically a restaurant / bar. On this day, if you ordered food, you also got a wine tasting. Large food portions, attractively presented. Good service. We just didn't find it anything really special. We had heard great Things but it's primary niche is that it is a winery on main street in my airy

So good to find that I could eat more than just a salad here. Pleasantly surprised they offer GF bread so I had a good sandwich.

We stopped by for wine tasting on a girl's day out. Tasting prices are quite good at $6 for sweet and $10 for dry and semi-dry. One server manned the whole table and also had other jobs in the back, so the tasting took a rather long time. The wines covered a variety of types; filtered/unfiltered, oak cask/ stainless steel... We enjoyed conversation with another guest and the bartender while sampling wines and having dinner. The flatbread with bacon caramelized onions and egg and the tuna nachos were excellent. We followed with a grilled salmon and goat cheese salad and grilled shrimp and feta salad. The citrus vinaigrette on the shrimp salad was very nice. Delightful spot downtown Mt. Airy.... More

Recently we visited NC and we were in the vicinity of Mount Airy. I have been getting emails for years from, probably the Chamber of Commerce there. We were visiting wineries on this trip and thought we would try this one. We had lunch and did some sampling. The wines were very good and we ended up leaving with 3... More

We stopped in by the recommendation of the owners of the Heart and Soul B&B. This was a great choice. They not only sell their products, but are very knowledgable of wine itself. We told them the type of wine we normally drink. From this, they made a few great recommendations and described the tastes exactly! The wine is made... More

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Old North State Winery. We arrived late afternoon for wine tasting. Our tasting was handled by Andrea who was just fabulous! We tasted six different wines and enjoyed a delicious snack of pimento cheese and bacon on toast points - so good! Later in the evening we enjoyed dinner at Old North... More

I enjoyed dinner here. The sirloin steak was cooked very well. Cheap bottle of wine on a Tuesday night. Atmosphere dark but not dark enough you can't see.
