An interesting and still important lighthouse that can be visited but not climbed. (NOTE: The lighthouse is currently under construction, and is expected to re-open in summer 2013, with the ability to be climbed for the first time)

Great place to visit while touring the Outerbanks. There is an Attendance Home you can tour. I am unsure if there is an option to go into the lighthouse. We were there during an off season.

We came here while exploring the area. The lighthouse is at the end of a short, secluded road where we saw three deer! I loved seeing the black and white lighthouse and reading the history about it. My little guy also enjoyed flying a kite...More

Since the restoration, you can now climb Bodie and enjoy the view. I love the grounds, Beautiful! The visitors center is in the keeper's quarters where you can get all of your questions answered!

Great day to vist Bodie lighthouse. A must see if you visit the outer banks. Can only imagine how busy these lighthouses must be in the summer months.

Second trip to this lighthouse, lots of fun. Try to stop at each lighthouse, each with different story to tell. I never appreciated lighthouses until I toured the Outer Banks and visited each one.

Beautiful and peaceful location. You cannot climb it, so that is a disappointment but g the shop is in the old keepers cottage which is interesting . Not far offrom the highway if you are headed to Pea Island or all the way to Ocracoke...More

The lighthouse was closed in terms of climbing it, but the grounds surrounding it were beautiful and made for a lot of great photo opportunities.

We drove out to see this while in the area. Very nice area and a nice walk way out towards the marshes and the wildlife.
