Teach's Hole Blackbeard Exhibit is a unique attraction devoted to all things "piratical." Since 1992, the exhibit and its pirate specialty shop have been a favorite destination for families visiting Ocracoke Island. The exhibit features a life-like recreation of Blackbeard, a weapons display, old bottles, original art, a pirate flag display, ship models, and interactive activities. As visitors leave the exhibit, they enter a one of a kind pirate specialty shop. Kids of all ages will enjoy Teach’s Hole!

My husband and I are both graduates from ECU, and with the pirate as our mascot we walked out to Teach's Hole to see what we could purchase that was pirate themed. Unfortunately we were sorely disappointed with what we found - most all of...More

It is a very small exhibit, but had a lot of good information and neat things to look at. It took about 15 minutes for us to go through it, reading all of the information plaques and looking at everything. It was only $4, and...More

Boring, complete waste of money for this closet sized "museum". We felt so ripped off, we considered complaining about how misleading their ads were. We were expecting a decent exhibit with lots of cool stuff and all that we got was wasted money, wasted time,...More

When my husband suggested we take the kids there (we have 9 year old and 12 year old daughters), I thought, ick. But it was fun. They both like pirates and there are cool things on women pirates there. Great t-shirts and posters on female...More

The pirate shop has a great collection of items for the kids or older pirate enthusiasts. The museum/exhibit is not huge, but very well put together and very informative. Well worth the few dollars considering the prices of other things (like food and drinks) on...More

Considering its hot in July it isn't a bad place to spend a few minutes. The exhibit won't knock your socks off but provides good info for anyone not familiar with Blackbeard.. I enjoy my T-shirt I bought there, go take a look..

PRO: one tastefully executed gun and sword panel - clearly constructed by an adult. CONS: 95% of the closet-sized museum was filled with elementary, child-like historical exhibits. One can learn about Ocracoke's history (including pirate history) in every other shop around - from the bookstore,...More
