I would highly recommend the ferry ride from Cedar Island to Ocracoke. The amount spent in the ferry is two hours and fifteen minutes. The ferry offers a lounge where you can connect to Wi-Fi and sometimes charge your electronic equipment. The view of the...More

Decent visitor's center just as you get off the ferry. Sells some t-shirts and other basic souvenirs.

Stopped into the visitor center to ask a few questions and was surprised to see "souvenirs" that did not compete with the local shops. Very tasteful and reasonably priced. And money going to a worthy cause.

No ferry involved coming from the mainland. Only time you would need to catch a ferry is if you were coming from Ocracoke way to the South.
