It is always silent and solemn to visit a cemetery. The plaques give a lot of information. It's interesting when you realize that it is British soil under the flag and behind the chains. The talking history tour on the radio did not work in our car on the AM station. Certainly a spot that you should see while in... More

There are four Graves here for British seamen whose bodies were recovered after a British ship was sunk by a U-Boat during World War II. It's a nice Monument and it explains the brief story of what happened. I enjoyed seeing it. Its worth passing by if you're on the island anyways.

This little cemetery is tucked near a residential area/campground. It is surrounded by a fence so that you can't walk among the stones, but it's small enough that you can see everything from the outside anyway. There isn't a lot to see, but the history is really interesting. Definitely worth a drive by if you are in the area.

Very nice tribute and being a Coast Guard family, we were very proud that the current CG maintains this cemetery. Take a few minutes to stop by this wonderful memorial.

My friends and I made a point to walk by and visit this monument. It is a touching memoiral to those lost off the NC shores during WWII.

A testament to the kindness of the Ocracoke people: several British soldiers are buried in this small cemetery. A good stop to view a bit of local history.

A quick stop if you are trying to see everything on the island. My husband and I found this interesting.

Interesting from a historical standpoint with graves dating back to tthe 1800's. 15-20 minutes and you have seen and read everything. Had hoped for me.
