The NPS Life Guards provide the security and water safety to old and young alike. As this section prohibits motor vehicles children can roam in safety.

Perfect ocracoke beach. Wide, flat expanses of sand and sea...shell hunting in abundance and lots of fun family time!

This beach was supposedly rated one of the top beaches in the US by Travel Channel. It was nice, and if you love to look at seashells, you will see many! On the whole, it did not have a "wow" factor for me. Just a...More

We loved this beach! It was the highlight of our whole Outer Banks vacation. There were great shells, it was mostly private if you didn't mind walking a bit down the beach and the facilities were clean and safe. Thanks! Oh, the ferry felt really...More

The beach was clean, access was easy, it accessible for all. The daily temp and tides are posted for all to see along with the lifeguards that are on duty for the day.

Just another beach, you can drive a vehicle on parts of it, if you get a permit, pets must be kept on lease.

I stayed at Ocracoke Harbor Inn. The prices were decent. They have golf carts and bicycles for rent. The ladies that work the desk there are BEYOND fantastic!
