The beach was beautiful, with huge rolling waves! After vacationing at overcrowded beaches for so many years, I was totally spoiled with the room to move freely!

This beach has plenty of parking, a wonderful (no stairs) boardwalk to the beach. The beach itself is clean and I love the fact that it's just a beach....nothing else. A nature lover's delight. There are restrooms and showers near the parking lot. Lifeguards on duty at times....loved it!

This beach this year has a brand new ramp/walkway which is a nice addition. When down here on vacation we always go to Ocracoke for the beaches as they just seem "better" for some reason. We usually go 1st week in September which is less packed, but this year we came down in June and although more people were here... More

One of the best beaches anywhere. The new ramp makes beach access super easy. The beach is pristine. The crowds were not overpowering. There was one day the biting flies were attacking even with bug spray. Go at night and chase the crabs and turn off the lights and star gaze.

The new boardwalk that just opened last week hopefully will make the beach more accessible to a variety of individuals, and also for families toting wheeled beach carts or coolers. No stairs! New observation deck with benches will greatly facilitate dolphin-sightings or just watching the waves roll in. The lifeguard crew seems young, energetic, eager to answer questions. An easy... More

Thankful for a stretch of beach that doesn't allow trucks. Also really like the brand new walkway to the beach over the dunes & the outdoor showers for rinsing off! Not a fan of composting toilets but you're on the island, so you deal :)

Absolutely beautiful wide beach. A new walkway was near completion to make access easier, although it wasn't overly difficult to access the beach via the trail over the dunes.

We took a bike ride to this beach and had a great time. We walked on the beach for a while as well. This seemed to be one of the more popular beaches but still not crowded.

The reconstruction of the boardwalk out to the beach should be finished for the onset of summer, but in the meantime, don't let it dter you from climbing the little path over the dunes. The beach is spectacular, and completely natural. We love it!
