Courthouse Falls is a really scenic 40-foot waterfall in an amphitheater setting. A big pool at the base makes a nice but cold swim hole and some people jump off the falls, though this is very dangerous. The trailhead is 3 miles down forest road...More

Courthouse is a quaint waterfall. Large rocks at bottom offer space for resting and picnics. The trail is short and fairly easy...of course there is downhill/uphill; it's a waterfall. The trail is very muddy. However, you can rinse off legs and feet at the creek...More

Jumped from a rock into the pool right by a waterfall! It was awesome. Short hike. You can camp right near the falls about a 1/4 mile hike.

Take the FR 140 for 3 curving mikes along a single, narrow, gravel road. Hike down the orange and blue blaze trail for 10-15 minutes. See the fall on the left. Take a steep path down and narrow bridge and steps to the base. Sounds...More

Beautiful waterfall. We went during a cold month and it was beautiful to see it after a heavy snow. People swim or wade around the water during warm months but it's not recommended to get too close to the falls. Although, many have without injury.

Peaceful place to pull over and stretch the legs. The length of this trail is short. It's narrow and rocky. Muddy during the rainy seasons. Beautiful 40+ foot waterfall.

This was a tough spot to find, but worth it. There was a large tree that fell recently and broke part of the steps leading to the falls and fell across the base of the falls. It is still accessible. It feels very remote and...More

When you take time to go to Pisgah National Forest, be sure to give yourself enough time to enjoy the views. You can stop at the visitor's center at the entrance and take note of all there is to see. Then enjoy all the park...More

Pleasant and scenic falls, though hard to find with a drive then a hike, and probably not worth the effort as other similar falls are easier to locate. Cool, clean water and a spot to jump from is possibly a more unique feature.
