My son and daughter had a great time at Dead Broke Farms for a week during track out. They were first-time riders and had a great experience learning how to ride. The staff were very helpful and supportive. The kids loved spending time grooming, feeding, and riding the horses. There were various trails and the kids enjoyed going on different... More

This is definitely not a place for first time riders. The trails are wicked steep and kind of scary. The people are very nice to their riders and help them through out the ride.

This was a really bad experience to spend the weekend. We are a family of 6 (parents and 4 children), all beginners in horse riding, but the good reviews about how the staff at DBF are courteous and helpful encouraged us to go for a first trial. The reality about the staff was exactly the opposite. They got nervous immediately... More

My daughter had a fantastic time at camp! Lots of great riding, farm animals, and fun times with other kids. She came home tired, happy and dirty every day. It was also convenient for working parents and a great value. My younger daughter (age 3) and I did a hand-led double ride on the last day, and she can't stop... More

My 7 year old daughter has loved every minute of her camp experience at Dead Broke Farm. She cannot wait to get there each morning, and hates to leave at the end of the day. She has learned so much about riding and the horses in just a matter of days, including responsibly caring for the horses. The 2 long... More

My son has attended the riding camp at Dead Broke Farms this week. It is by far the best camp he has been to in all his years of summer camps. He has absolutely loved being able to explore the farm and learn to care for and ride the horses. The people who work at the farm are kind and... More

We had a blast riding the horses at Dead Broke Farm. The wait was a little long, but that is understandable given that they were short staffed. We were even able to help out with brushing the horses, which was cool. Once we got our horses and went out on the trail the experience was nothing short of fantastic. Thank... More

Overall, a great experience for my 3 kids, ages 6, 10, 12. Much better experience than Happy Trails. Pros: great trails, long trail rides (2 per day), kind and responsible counselors, fun activities when not riding, farm work experience, 6 yr old can ride in large saddle with counselor if he doesn't want to ride alone (make sure you specify... My 12 yr old daughter couldn't wait to get to get to camp each morning! After a bad riding experience in the NC mountains, the staff encouraged her to get back on and ride again. She is already asking to go back next summer. The staff has been patient, kind, and comforting to all of my daughter's needs. She will... More

Once again, my grandson is enjoying his week at Dead Broke Farm horse camp. Yesterday he got to help feed the horses, and he loved that. He has developed a love of horses, and it stems from this camp. I’m sure he’ll want to come back next year. I recommend this camp – a great experience!
