Visited the Park without plan

Another good old simple park with many bridges over the river, Martyr's Park was delicated to the Martyrs of China. It's definitely one of my favourite places to be when I feel sad or depressed.

I had been to Martyr's Park in 2009, so I was interested in revisiting it. I enjoyed it both times (see earlier review). This time I spent an afternoon with friends, strolling until we found a place we liked and then playing music and singing for a few hours, so we did not visit the history exhibit but it was... More

I supposed to visit Hunan Province Museum and it was still under construction. That day was drizzling. As an alternative, I changed my plan to visit this park and met a young lady from Nanning. We walked through the Qing Fen Bridge and Feng Yu Bridge. This park has the two parts. One is Martyr's park and another is garden.... More

I went here with a friend in an overcast day. The park is in the center of the city, but the air here is fresh. It is a good place to walk with pets, but unfortunately the pets are banned from entering the park. (What confused me was that I saw some people walking with pets in the park.) In... More

The Hunan provincial museum was closed for renovations, so we walked down the road to this park instead. It's nice for a stroll.

If the weather is good, a great Saturday experience to just wander the park. Everyone is out in their finest and the music and dancing is a pleasure to see.

It's an enjoyable way to get away from the city without having to go too far. As others have said, there is a tower and amusement park (for younger children). What I found the most interesting was to watch the people playing cards and just generally enjoying the surroundings of the site.

This is a beautiful park with a mix of paths to walk along, a small carnival with rides and games, small vendors through out, and a large lake with paddle boats and some more traditional Chinese boats. There is a nice walkway to a couple of small islands that has that traditional Chinese look. And a full McDonalds by the... More

Its one of those downtown area where you can go to get some fresh air. Boat riding and amusement park stuff are all there. Normal stuff like water or cigarette can cost more than the normal price.

Not better than some of the great parks of China yet it has it's own uniqueness. It has a memorial tower in the middle and a lake on the side. I'll say its good for having a quick stroll around especially for the elderly.
