At this time it cost 50¥ per adult. We only walked around the outside. You can not see much without going in. However, if you would like to see some older style Chinese buildings for free there are two pretty cool temples up the mountain. They are easy to spot on the map. We have a 2yo and 5yo, so... More

The thousand years old academy. We were touring this place accompanied by our clients, who also hired an English guide for us. We spent an hour there, but clearly, it was not enough. It is located on the property of the Hunan University, who also claimed that this academy was the original school of the University, but we would leave... More

A 1000 year old academy at the base of mount Yuelu. Most of the buildings have of course been rebuilt based on the original design. Foreigners may just enjoy walking around the complex and looking at the architecture as there is not a lot of information in English. The museum which is included in the ticket price probably won't be... More

Quite a few interesting buildings and was pretty quiet even with a fair number of other visitors on the site. Can get to the mountain from the exit in the back of the complex which makes it a nice and easy way to see two different sites.

Monday was a perfect day to visit and get away from the crowds. Founded in Song Dynasty with over a thousand years of history, on the campus of modern day Hunan University. One the few historical sites in China where peace and tranquillity can still be found, and the original esthetic of the gardens can still be enjoyed. There is... More

This 1000 year old academy is a must if you happen to be in Changsha. Lovely old buildings, something you dont see much of this city. Nice walking around in the garden. The museum itself was around 100 RMB and worth the money.

Really nice place. Is a must to visit in Changsha and one of the best places I 've been in China. Fresh air, peaceful and out of the noise, 0 overcrowded during my visit

The area is quiet and I happened to be there in Fall. Weather is so good and it's great for a walk. Entrance is around 100RMB if my memory serves me right. I won't recommend to go inside if you are on a budget, walking outside the school is good enough. Clean and quiet.

I really enjoyed walking around this site, liked the confucious temple (which wasn't very crowded), and the museum of learning was really interesting too, the gardens were very pretty and you could walk out of the back gate up to the mountain and Lushan temple. I did a bit of homework before coming as i didnt have a guide, but... More
