Rajwada (Hindi: राजवाडा) is a historical palace in Indore city. It was built by the Holkars of the Maratha Empire about two centuries ago. This seven storied structure is located near the Chhatris and serves today as a fine example of royal grandeur and architectural skills/

Rajwada from outside is inpressive and part of India's history, the entry fee is very low .. could be more than just Rs. 15 maintenance and restoration of this historical place is required to impress more visitors

Great historical construction, looks great from outside. The inside of the palace is not so attractive. I have seen it in daytime. It is said the illumination of palace is great view at night.

Though, we couldn't enter the main building of the palace as it was closed on that day, but my wife and other family members enjoyed shopping at Rajwada market place. It is a very congested market, but saris, lehengas and other dress materials (mainly for women) are available at a cheap price.

One of the few historical monuments in Indore, this has been recently done up and renovated. However, the efforts seem inadequate. The place looks run down and has little to keep visitors' interest or attention. There is no help whatever to tell us anything about it.

Would be a nice building if it was looked after and all the rubbish removed !! The Museum was dank & dusty with poor exhibits. Not a good example for a large city

The iconic Rajwada Palace is situated few kms away from Indore railway station and is easily accessible via public transport. Only a part of huge palace is left now which is undergoing renovation . There is a small museum too built with in the palace. The palace reminds one of the pomp and hold of Holkars in old Indore. Though... More
