If you are a street food lover, you will love this place and vibes. I went around 11:30 pm and the radiance of this place was “wow”. All famous Indore street cuisines are available with very reasonable pricing. I tasted Jaleba with Rabri,Dahi wada, Bhutte ki Khich, Jamun Shot, Sabudana ki Khichadi, Soya chaap,Khatta Samosa, Gold man Kulfi, Panipuri with 10 flavours & Smoke Paan. There were lots & lots of other varieties but there was not an inch to accommodate anything in my stomach. Should be in your bucket list when you are in Indore.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten September 29, 2024

A bazaar that has shops selling jewellery and utensils during the day..but from 9pm till 2am in the night it is packed of various food stalls selling different delicacies. Joshi's dahi bada are excellent. Bhutte ki khees too.
Coconut crush is something refreshing to try. Many kinds of snacks..try and enjoy.

The sarafa bazaar chaupati starts around 9 pm. It offers so many food items, all vegetarian. I tasted gheess, gharadu, coconut crush, Joshi ji sadi aloo tikki, dahi vada, katori chaat, jalebi, fruit chaat. This is not the end. One can taste pasta, cheela, ice cream, momos, kulfi, rabari, malpua. I am looking forward to my next trip to sarafa bazzar to try other items.

Visited this place during our visit to Indore. Place opens after 9.30-10 pm at night, when we went it was janmasthami so very crowded and there was lot of rain. Its a make shift place unline Chappan Dukaan, so you will hardly find a place to sit and eat. Lot of stalls for chat, Milkshakes, coconuts, Dosa's, Chinese, Kulfi, Gulab Jamuns.
We tried Coconut shake which was decent (Rs 100), Pani Puri with 5 different type of waters (Rs 40), Gulab Jamun (Rs 40), Sitafal Rabdi (Rs 40). However the best was Jamun crush (they serve in shot glasses), it was pure jamun pulp and it was amazing (Rs 40).
Mini Gulab Jamun and Sitafal Rabdi were too sweet in taste.
At the beginning there is a famous samosa counter, which we didnt try. Found the place bit cramped and muddy as there were rains. It will be better during summers and winters.
Overall decent, food taste was average except Jamun shots.

Sarafa is the go to place for foodies. The name comes from the location, which is a jewellery market in the day. After 9.00 p. It transforms into to most amazing open air eating joint. You should see the system the vendors have to roll in the carts, set up everything in 10 minutes flat.

Overpriced food stalls..this place has deteriorated over the years..atleast 7-8 years ago it was better and food prices were affordable. 150 Rs for 6 momo( pieces) with ordinary taste is daylight robbery. The overhyped Garadu for 70 Rs( hardly any qty) is another rip off..The best thing to do would be to head out to Chappan...it's far better, cleaner and affordable

If you are an international traveller- stay clear . Substandard hygiene, local crowd is pushy and rude and you eat standing among people who are loud in every way possible and jostling around. Not worth a visit even if you are not planning to eat - bad taste - from quite a number of uncivilised people there will linger in your memory for a long time.

India only night food market .Sarafa Bazar operates till midnight. In the day time, it is a jewellery market which usually opens up at around 11 AM and later after 8 PM the jewellery stores shut down and the street food vendors set up their stalls. So basically, the timings of Sarafa Bazar is from 11am till 3 pm.Thats why MP tourism tag line in advertisement is YUMMI INDORE.

is this open and safe to go in pandemic situation?
Written December 15, 2020
Yes offcourse it's opened but it's an individual choice to visit it or not. Though personally I would suggest not to opt for street food at this time of epidemic. What exactly you are looking forward to eat ? Though you won't get the aura of the Sarafa but i can suggest you what to get from delivery.

Do you get autos at 2am to get back to your hotel ? n whatbare the other mode of public transport avalable post of midnight.
Written March 17, 2019
Yes! At a walking distance of 100-200 meters you can get auto rickshaws, OLA, UBER. I’m sorry to state that at 2am public transport viz; city buses are not available as they operate only till 10:30 pm.
Good luck and happy stay at Cleanest City of India.

Absolutely.... one of the best street food market in India. I have been there two nights in a row and kind of turnout there clearly shows that they prepare everything fresh everyday as no scope of leftovers...

When I go to Sarafa Bazaar after 9 pm , where can i park the car nearby ? I will be travelling with my own car
Written October 27, 2018
You will probably have to park in designated parking parking areas close by.....you will still have to walk bit to get to Sarafa Bazar after parking your car.

As Indore is known as Street Food Capital Of India, street food in Indore is hygienic. Not sure, but as known, Sarafa and 56 shops eat out giants have been conferred with ISO certification for the cleanliness and maintaining food quality to the best, as far hygiene is concerned.
Written August 3, 2019
Few famous and permanent shops are open during day time also. But I would suggest that it's better to go after 8pm as jewellery shops close and all the food stalls open which gives you lots of variety to taste
