By purchasing a Burra Passport, the visitor can let themselves into this site and spend as much time as they like exploring. There are information signs around and I found it very interesting.

One of the mines that yielded tons of copper ore that was processed onsite and shipped out. Believed to be one of the factors saving our infant state from bankruptcy. Good signage and description of mine workings and many historical ruins and standing stone buildings....More

Wow there is an actual open cut mine to see and also you can drive around and learn some of the history. Very well sign posted. This town is an absolute gem !!!

A most interesting insight into the past. Wonderful workmanship in the buildings. Excellent views of town & distract from several locations. Part of the Passport tour which was enlightening. The whole passport tour takes at least 3 -4 hours.
