Really enjoyed the experience of the passport tour. We did it over two days and really discovered what Burra was like. I felt like I had a real feel for how tough life was back in the 1850's. Even if you only have a passing interest in history, you will love this.

The people in Burra all seem to be lovely. The Passport (with key) is a great idea. Enjoyed every moment.

Reasonably priced and very well sign posted. Passport key is an excellent idea. Easy to follow maps and attractions well restored with copious amounts of historical info. Some area a can be walked...others in the car. Some attractions staffed by really knowledgeable volunteers.

We were too late arriving in Burra to take advantage of the heritage Burra passport but those wonderful buildings that we did see proved that the passport would be an amazing Australian experience in a magical heritage town. For people of English mining descent it is particularly valuable as you can peek back into the cottages and lives of very early... We had a blast using the Burra Passport. I have traveled through Burra many times but haven't stayed overnight. We took the opportunity to purchase the Burra passport and leisurely visited the sites over 2 days. Nine of the sights had to be unlocked by the key we were provided with to enter the site. Great idea. I particularly enjoyed... More

This is a must do self guided tour of Burra. You pay $30 per person and receive the Keys to Burra. Take yourself along the 11km drive or ride to open buildings and take as long as you like to explore our history. Beautiful town and a fantastic was to see it.

What a great concept - practically no staffing required to provide access to dozens of sites. A wonderful old copper mining town with lots of history. It cost $50 for 2 Seniors passport entries. Another couple we ran into several times had opted not to get the passport (and key). While some things can be seen OK from the outside,... More
