Located in the old timber town of Dwellingup the Hotham valley railway is easy to find with loads of nearby parking. Tickets (at time of writing) cost $28 per adult, check website for other prices. Tickets are purchased from the station. We were served by the lovely Carol who was full of knowledge about the tour and really helpful. She... More

Worthwhile experience for family with young children. Steam train ride with nice view and fresh air, stopped half way before returning to departure point, good exposure on the mechanical sides of Hoe steam train works.

We had family visiting and thought this would be a great experience. We brought some friends with us also and rode the steam train. So relaxing

To travel on a steam train is becoming a very rare and unique experience. Not only exciting and relaxing, it is an experience which is becoming a great rarity. To keep a steam train operational is expensive and if it was not for the dedication of the teams of volunteers there would be NO steam trains left. The Hotham Valley... More

Loved the warm personality of the staff behind the counter (too bad I forgot her name) and how accommodating she was. Loved the total experience of the forest train ride. It would have been much better if there's some audio narration during the ride. Some sort of information telling us to prepare our cameras to take photo of that 300... More

Yesterday my Husband & I went on the Hotham Valley steam train through the Forest in Dwellingup. We both had a fantastic day. We loved the train which was comfortable & clean. The people who run this are all volunteers, very polite & friendly. I think they all do a great job. We had a couple of glasses of wine... More

Our Thomas the tank engine fanatic two year son loved the real steam train. Fantastic to see all the old machinery in perfect working order. It would be even more interesting if there is a museum style exhibition for train and history.

The steam train was a beautiful way to spend a morning. My boys had a wonderful few hours out marvelling at the countryside. The volunteers were knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended.

Had a very enjoyable afternoon at the Hotham Valley railway. A very scenic journey through beautiful Australian countryside on an atmospheric steam railway. Staffed by enthusiastic steam enthusiasts. Highly recommended.
