We love to end an evening in Southport peacefully swinging near the pier. There are lots of double swings with water views. Try this after dinner in one of the many restaurants within walking distance. You won’t be sorry.

One of our favorite places to 'chillax'. The park offers benches and bench-swings for sitting and viewing the water. What you see is the area where the Cape Fear River joins the Atlantic ocean, with views of Oak Island, Bald Head Island, smaller natural islands....More

This area was nice. We sat on the bench swing and watched the water. Next we strolled out in the pier.

We walked this a few times during our stay and at different times of the day. Plenty of seating in a couple of places along the way. The Gazebo down by the marina is a great place to view the sunset and Oak Island Lighthouse.

Benches and swings are provided next to the pier where you can chill out, listen to the waves, watch boats and great people watching. There are great shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Very nice atmosphere and quiet place to enjoy the pier and river walk. We went on a summer evening after dinner and was a very enjoyable time. There are also many shops and restaurants near by to enjoy.
