I loved this place. I went in to watch them Make the cheese but was a bit too late. Went into store and spent lots of $$$ on lots of variety of cheese. This is a great place to go for items for everyday or entertaining. They also have a large selection of NC wines.

We stopped here to buy some cheese curds and ended up spending 70 dollars on great jams, cheese, pot holders and kettle corn. we will be back soon as we live only 1.2 hrs away.

Watching the cheese making is quite interesting. Don't forget to go across the street to get your cheese or any of the many other things that are in the store. There are so many things to choose from. I recommend the cheese curds and any of the other cheeses are tasty. I did like the Jack and Dill also.

We took out kids here (12, 8 and 7) between Christmas and New Years. We thought the tour was going to be more of an actual tour....this is really a viewing. You can view the cheese being made through a window.... They have a very nice store across the street to purchase items. Cheese, snacks, ice cream and fudge. Great... More

The business is awesome. The folks were super nice and helpful. We loved the cheese and the cheese straws, We would highly recommend visiting the next time you are in the area.

When in West Jefferson, we never miss going to the cheese factory and store. They have the best selection of cheese. We were saddened that our last visit they were out of the bison but the summer sausage was a good substitute. In the back of the store you will find the wine selection.

They have preserves, chocolate and are situated in a beautiful village with wheelchair friendly curbs. Great toy store nearby. We went when the leaves were turning color with a Church Bus. Family friendly.

Watching cheese being made is pretty cool. The Ashe County Cheese shop across the street carries many varieties of their tasty cheddar, jack, and bleu cheeses, with additions like peppers or dill. Of course, the squeaky cheese curds (they really do squeak when you chew them!) are the best!

I like the fact that I got to see the process I once saw on TV being done right before our eyes! I thought it was more to it, but it was just fine for me. The cheese is good too!
