All Saints’ Tudeley is the only church in the world* to have all its twelve windows decorated by the great Russian artist Marc Chagall. The east window at Tudeley is a memorial tribute to Sarah d'Avigdor-Goldsmid who died aged just 21 in a sailing accident off Rye. Sarah was the daughter of Sir Henry and Lady d'Avigdor-Goldsmid; the family then lived at the fine Jacobean house Somerhill which is situated nearby.

This is a beautiful church with all the windows in the main sanctuary done by Marc Chagall. I lost my way following the walking instructions (2.5 miles became 7.1 miles one way for me -- but that's me. I am not from the UK :)), but I passed through beautiful fields and the Somerhil Schools. But anyway. The church seemed... More

My 11 and 14 year old enjoyed the written guide which suggested searching for the details within the windows and we all enjoyed the atmosphere and beauty of this special place

The story of the Chagall windows is very moving. They are beautiful and unique. Also lovely views of surrounding countryside from the grounds.

Just beautiful. We were recommended by friends to visit this church and it certainly deserves all the praise it receives. The windows are absolutely stunning and, of course, it has such a sad story connected to this church. It is tucked away in a very peaceful setting so if your are near the area don't miss the chance of visiting... More

This is a very beautiful place to visit. The story surrounding it is heart wrenching but there is no doubt that this is a wonderful memorial and work of art. Chagall has managed to tell a story of beauty, strength and courage of a life snatched from a young woman. Beyond the main window he has also managed to capture... More

A fabulous small tiny church with the most incredible set of Chagall windows - a great treasure! The church does a good job presenting the windows with a paper guide walking description with postcards available for sale. Well kept and a tiny spot with impressive art of Chagall.

From the moment we walked in, we were entranced. Chagall's combination of colours and images plus the story behind the windows were very moving. We spent an hour in the church looking at the details in each window, then stepping back to admire the whole. Each window is beautiful, especially the uplifting East window. It was the highlight of our... More
