Having spent over 11 years with Seaboard Coastline Railroad, a hybrid 0f the Atlantic Coastline Railroad, I really wanted to visit this museum. The museum is located in the downtown area of Wilmington on the waterfront. Not a big museum but enough items and displays...More

I learned all about the complexities of the railroad business surrounding the Atlantic Coastline RR as well the Richmond Fredericksburg and Potomac RR. They have a huge room devoted to model railroads that I especially enjoyed. They have everything from Pullman China to rail weights...More

This is a very small attraction but if you like trains it is worth the stop. It is friendly to the novice as well as the most experienced in the field.

Wonderful railroad museum, in a great location. The model train setup was fantastic, and the kids room keep our 23 month old grand daughter enthralled for over an hour. We could not tear her away!

We were looking for something small to do in the area between other plans so we stopped here. It was a nice little museum and we got some great goodies to bring back home.

Plan to spend some time to appreciate this medium sized museum. The guides there will answer any questions, but most exhibits are self-explanatory. Older people will remember earlier times and young people will learn about local railroad history. Many artifacts, well displayed, well marked, in...More

My God, if you have ever been fascinated by toy trains and the big real ones, don't miss this museum. My family and I tour this whenever we are in Wilmington, maybe twice a year. Love the city and its museums, especially this one.

We are putting together class trips for middle school 7th graders and looking at Wilmington as one of our options. We are interested in any types of discounts for a group of students? Is there a limit as to how many can visit the museum at one time? Would there be a possibility of guided tours? We are looking at 150-180 students, split into two groups that would visit at separate times. 2 minutes ago Answer

I'm sure if you contact the museum they could give you the info you need. However, the museum is not that large and 150 students at one time may be very chaotic.
