Historic Wilmington is a beautiful location to explore on foot, bicycle or drive. Located minutes from the beach, it contains several scenic areas, photo opportunities and eating options. In my opinion one of the best places in NC to visit.

Not so big, perfectly walkable and with very interesting buildings and houses. The perfect alternative to a day at the beach.

We splurged on a carriage ride our first trip to Wilmington, and it's my favorite memory. It's very hot in August, so walking very much can sap your strength.

We did not book carriage ride or meals in advance, but don't about the summer months. Park at the parking garage. Think there is only one public parking garage in the historic district.

I think it is about $15 per person - no reservations needed- just wait in line.

I believe the tour was $15 per person and the guide that drove did a wonderful job explaining all the highlights of the historic district.
