Bring the whole family to see and experience a WWII Pacific battleship that saw lots of action. This is a terrific way to show the kids what it was like to be a part of the Greatest Generation. There is a tremendous amount of history inside this great Lady, loads of personal stories from the sailors and crew. A must-see... More

Our family (spouse, myself, and kids ages 13, 11, 8 and 6) went to tour the battleship on Saturday. We happened to pick a day where they do "Battleship 101" and we lucked out. Volunteers were all around the ship explaining and telling stories and we learned so much. We were told before we went to give ourselves 2 hours... More

Visited with my two young sons. They really enjoyed the battleship. Lots of steps and confined spaces so beware if you are bothered by this.

This is a massive war ship. The history inside before you even get out to the ship was interesting. But when walking up the ramp onto the ship, stunning. You are able to walk around on your own and explore or you can take a tour. We thought this would be just a nice side trip. We ended up spending... More

The battleship and the Museum tell the story of the role the North Carolina played in winning the war against Japan. It also traces the lineage of the name through time from colonial days to today, when it is now the SSN North Carolina. The visual displays and videos are well organized and displayed, and tell the story in a... More

The majestic ship will bring back past historical memories as it sits in the Wilmington, North Carolina harbor. I love to watch movies about World War 2 and this iconic ship is the real thing!!!! You cannot help but think of the brave men who served aboard this "piece of Americana"! It reminds me of the USS Alabama located in... More

A lot of people will see movies of the battleships used before, during & after WWII. This is a place where anyone can go aboard, look, walk around, take pictures, see how their fathers, grandfathers, great grandfathers lived aboard ship during some of the hardest times of their lives during the war. Not many battleships are left & this is... More

Stop by on our to Myrtle Beach. I liked that this is a self-guided tour. We had our 4 year old grandson with us, who's father is in the Navy. He recognized a lot of what he saw. Being self guided we could move at our pace, spending more time in the areas that interested him and less time at... More

My wife and I have been on other battleships (the Alabama & Wisconsin) but the North Carolina was by far the most impressive! The entire ship is preserved, accessible and pristine. It was exciting to go inside the giant gun turrets, see the bunks stacked 5 high in the berthing areas and go deep down in the engine room. It's... More

My daughter wanted to take our grandson to the battleship USS North Carolina. I didn't really care to go but I tagged along since this was a family outing. Wow, am I glad I did!! Such a history with this ship, we all need to be reminded of the sacrifices previous Americans made for our current freedoms. This Ship and... More
