4 blocks South & across the Cape Fear River from the USS North Carolina battleship memorial. The live snake exhibits will hold your attention especially when someone stands there tapping on the glass trying to get the snakes to react while they take a picture. Big snakes, small snakes, gators, turtles, live specimens & lots of other displays. Some are... More

This place is one of the coolest attractions I've ever been to! So many snakes and reptiles! The snakes were so active! Just a fun time if you're not too squeamish...

One of the best displays I've seen of some very rare, hard to keep reptiles. It is a challenge to "hunt" them up in these natural display settings. On every level of interest you may have in reptiles this is a must see attraction.

Yes, they have a large selection of snakes. Having said that I was saddened to see the 2 turtles and 1 alligator in such a small confined area. Even the large pythons did not have room to move around much. This is housed in an old building that has seen better days - maybe.

Found this place interesting. They have some amazing snakes on view, all live, well they mostly seem to sleep but at times they appear alive. The best thing to do is to call ahead and find out when feeding time is, then it gets exciting. Many of the snakes on display are very rare and extremely poisonous, snakes you do... More

We took two of our grandsons and they enjoyed it as much as we did. If we lived closer, I'd recommend this place for a birthday party. Wish we could have been there for feeding, but we were told it's only once each week. Obviously it would be best to call ahead if that's important. The snakes, alligators, lizards and... More

The kids were so excited about hitting the museum from the moment they saw the signage. We walked in the door and were greeted by the two large macaws/parrots (not sure which) and a very rude guy at the front desk. He was extremely condescending when we asked questions about the birds/museum and was just an overall jerk. Glad they... More

My 8 year old was dying to go here. I'm a Good Mom, cuz it was scary! But very fun! Lots of snakes, big to small. Alligators, crocs, big lizards, turtles, parrots and a tarantula. Everything fascinating and terrifying. We got there for feeding time. So scary but you have to watch. Beautiful colors. A great place to support. Temp... More

First thing is cash only. This is a great place to check out snakes up close. If you come during feeding time they actually set up barriers and let the snakes strikeout of the cages at the rats. So you get to see them at work really closely.
