Beautiful day for a walk

Great way to be outside but cool off under the canopy of the trees. Flowers ands property are gorgeous.

We took the last day of the Azalea Festival to tour Airlie Gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed the bottle chapel dedicated to Minnie Evans. So much love went into it for someone who seemed to love the gardens. It also added diversity. Our next favorite was the butterfly house. Although it was not open due to it being too early for... I have stopped here many times in my visits to the area. There are Spring and Summer and Fall times that the place shows best. My young kids enjoyed walking around and admiring the grounds. It is a quiet place not quite right if your children are not peaceful beings. The bottle chapel is always a fun sight and the... More

During Azalea Festival weekend we strolled the grounds and had the most lovely visit. Many beautiful areas to explore. And I hear they have a once a month concert, so check that out. Also, a wedding there would be to die for.

We can into town not knowing that there was an Azalea Festival going on. We were planning on the tour anyway, but this was amazing with the people there that planned the gardens and the beauty of the garden in general.

This is a walking tour that takes 1-1 1/2 hours. The trail is .9 of a mile. Highlights are the Lebanon Chapel built in 1835 and the cemetery behind it, the great Airlie Oak (over 450 years old), the butterfly house, and the bottle house by local artist Minnie Evans. There are many oaks absolutely dripping Spanish Moss, tons of... More

One of the greatest attractions in Wilmington. Birders paradise with water views all around. Perfectly landscaped with beautiful trails, about 1.2 miles total. A Destination Wedding Venue! Beautiful gardens all year long.

I have lived in Wilmington for almost 30 years and never set foot in Airlie gardens until this past weekend. I attended the azalea festival garden party and let me tell you that Airlie is absolutlely stunning. The flowers, the landscape, the scenery and all of this by the water. WOW Breathtaking.

This was a beautiful way to spend an evening, viewing the lights and displays. It was not too cold the night we went, so we could really enjoy taking the time to see all the different types.
