This is a very impressive monument to show recent past flood levels. It was worth the time to visit last time I was in town. Parking nearby is easy and there are stairs and paved walkways that make for easy access. The monument itself is...More

The monument shows the height of waters during five different floods and sits on the bank of the Red River. It would have been interesting to see high water marks on the various buildings as we walked through town.

While standing next to the monument and keeping the 97 level in mind, do a 360 degree scan and imagine the volume of water Mother Nature delivered.

After eating right across the river, we strolled across the bridge separating MN & ND & viewed the flood memorial. It is well done & it's a nice park to walk/bike. Worth a look.

I enjoyed walking here, lots of paved paths and well maintained grass and trees. The Memorial was interesting and educational, as well.

This monument on the side of the river near the Sorlie Bridge is a poignant reminder of past floods and is a readily recognisable indicator of the historic heights that various floods have reached.

This really puts things into perspective when you see how far the water reached. I had a son living in Grand Forks at the time and it was very scary for me seeing it on TV, but seeing it depicted in the Memorial Monument gives...More

They've done a wonderful job lighting up the entire area with Christmas lights. It has a really festive atmosphere and as long as the wind is not howling, it makes for a great stop. You can drive by and see the lights but stop the...More

We're in awe of the force of nature. The monument and park is a wonderful way to cite the history of the natural disasters experienced by the people of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks. Come and see the great work and methods used to...More
