Great place to learn about the region

Great museum with helpful staff who know a lot about the local region.
Too bad for the closure of the NWT border which has devastated the local hospitality industry on this side of the border too.

Interesting exhibits including a well done story of the 2019 Chuckegg creek fire west of town. Worth a stop!!

This museum is small but if packed with tons of great stuff! Worth the stop! They sometimes offer community craft nights too.

A Little History and Some Shopping
Oct. 2017
The museum has a good display showing the history of High Level. There are also items that you can purchase as gifts for yourself or your family. There are special events hosted at the museum throughout the year. The museum also provides information about the area.

For a small facility it is well put together with information about the origins of High Level and the people involved in developing the community

Well worth a stop

The museum is small, but very nicely laid out. Tells the history of High Level - including the original post office.

When you drive this far north you will want a break. Be sure to make a stop in for a visit. It has a small museum with things that are in good shape for being antiques. There are some awesome stuffed critters that you never see in a zoo. Rather amazing to see them up close. They have an area with local art for sale, plus books, crafts and knick knacks. As well as a place to sit & have a picnic lunch inside out of inclement weather. Its good for a washroom break if necessary.
There are a multitude of brochures of this area and Northern Alberta. The lady that assisted us was very knowledgeable and pleasant.
Its small but still spent more than a hour looking around and reading stuff.
