About
Heritage Acres Farm Museum is an open-air, 180-acre site full of antique equipment and artifacts. It was established in 1988 after the Oldman River Dam was built and is currently operated by the Oldman River Antique Equipment and Threshing Club. This club is dedicated to promoting education and interest in preserving the history and heritage in Southern Alberta’s agricultural industry, from 1880-1960. Members of the Oldman River Antique Equipment and Threshing Club are often seen on site restoring machinery and buildings. These folks have volunteered thousands of hours of their time to paint buildings, organize events, and rehabilitate rusty machinery into fully mobile, working exhibits. A significant number of relocated heritage buildings restored farming supplies and equipment, and all sorts of antiquities are on site for all to admire. A site map is available o our website along with a brief history of all the buildings. Come out and see where history comes alive !

What an excellent place! Heritage Acres has something for everyone and I highly recommend you visit! I got to experience the use of horses on early farm equipment and I even rode around on an old fashioned carriage! There are copious amounts of tractors to witness driving around and some amazing barns and buildings to explore! This place makes for a perfect inexpensive day and I will have to return for the shows and demonstrations!

We spent 2 hours on the farm with a nine and eleven year old girls. They stayed engaged for the whole time. The displays were accessible and the kids climbed onto tractors, steam engines, looked at items, weighed grain and it was a hands on experience. For me, 66 years old, it was a trip down memory lane and I could explain the way machines were used and the work involved in using it. Great day.

Heritage Acres Farm Museum is a must visit for anyone interested in the history of farming in Southern Alberta. As well as heritage buildings there are numerous vehicles and pieces of machinery from the past.

We were on our anniversary trip and saw a sign for this museum on the highway. We decided to check it out and we’re glad that we did.

We got an excellent tour of the place which brought back some great memories from when I was a kid.

I highly recommend taking your family to this museum

We heard that the museum was exhibiting a collection of quilts, accompanied by flower arrangements. This was the first of what promises to be an annual event. It was well worth the trip to see them. The flower arrangements were as intriguing and beautiful as the quilts. The staff are friendly, and we look forward to returning for the annual show on the first weekend of August.

We went on Saturday of the August long weekend for their annual show. The field demonstrations were very good. Lots to look at and do through the day. Kids loved the pedal tractors. Parade of power and tractor pull were fun and interesting.
