About
The Ktunaxa First Nations peoples embraced the nupika wu’u, or hot mineral waters, for their healing and rejuvenating powers and the Ainsworth Hot Springs has been welcoming guests since the 1930s. Explore our distinctive caves where HOT mineral water flows freely from the earth, creating a natural steam bath. The hot water is cooled to a comfortable 35C-37C as it enters into the main lounging pool. Immerse yourself in the warm soothing mineral water for a relaxing yet invigoration experience!

We stayed for two nights. The pools and caves are fantastic however being a mineral pool etc the water does discolour your swimsuits so don’t bring your most favourite. I wish they would state that in their promotions. We stayed in the Yaqan Nukiy room. Very nice although it really should have a microwave!! & screen door ( balcony)so you could have it open without bugs coming in.
Ktunaxa grill was very good.

We reserved a spot as early as possible in the morning, and the pool and caves were therefore not too busy and quite enjoyable. Everyone had a good time from our 10 month old to the 70+ grandparents!

As the website mentions, the Hot Springs do offer warm waters that relax the muscles…. however, they do not often bring a sense of calm. The rules around the pool area are just a suggestion - it gets very noisy with kids running around and shouting; staff will not enforce their rules. Loved the caves but the whole experience was not that great.

drove 8 hrs - no regrets. Clean, small enough not to have a crowd in the pool/cave. Lakeview rooms, restaurant. Really good time...

Hotsprings were phenomenal. Skip the resort though. With covid there are no visitors which is ok however people took it on themselves to party in the parking lot past midnight. Awful sleep when your window is above it and staff did nothing to stop it despite quiet time from 11 pm to 7am

Way too much chlorine in the pools, change rooms need privacy for men, out dated, food is mediocre and very expensive.
Lounge and restaurant close early as the pools, bring a book!! Or watch t.v in your room after 9.

Thanks for your visit and kind words for our staff that I will share. We tested microwaves in a few rooms but unfortunately if someone heats microwave popcorn the odor lingers for days. We do keep one at front desk and staff are happy to heat baby formula or other necessities for guests. Hope to see you back!

We enjoyed our visit to Ainsworth. The food was delicious in the upstairs dining room. Views of the Kootenay Lake and the valley and pools. Had a nice soak after and enjoyed the attached hot pool caves- fun feature. It’s a little dated, but kept very well.

This was such a great experience! The pool is lovely and then wow- the “caves”. It’s really a stunning hot water cave-tunnel. We love visiting caves and this was an irreplaceable time. If you’re near or looking for a destination come here. Mr. Dad hates crowds but on this busy weekend he didn’t care at all. Mrs. loves hot, hot h20 and this did not disappoint. 16 y/o girl and 17 y/o guy loved the varied pools, the caves and the whole experience. We ate at the restaurant after and it was so so. Next time we’ll just hear back to one of the countless tasty choices in Nelson. Ainsworth will likely be an annual trip for us now.
