About
Alpine Taxidermy & Wildlife Museum is open 7 days/week , 9 am to 9 pm. Marty Thomas has been hunting, guiding and doing taxidermy for almost 30 years and has created a wildlife museum where you can see life-like preserved species of many big and small game found throughout B.C. There is no charge to walk through the museum and several items are for sale for the right price. Outside, Marty and his wife Marlene have put in a Cedar Tree maze for the kids and have many rock & flower gardens to walk through.

This place far exceeded our expectations! There’s pretty much one of every Canadian animal you can think of (and a few exotic ones as well). It was especially interesting to see the polar bear and grizzly bear as I am unlikely to ever see those in real life. Holy smokes are they massive!
Also interesting was getting a chance to see up close all the smaller creatures like a badger, wolverine, muskrat etc.
This museum is free and only about a 3 min drive outside of town. There is a donation box if you feel like donating some cash or change (we did as we appreciated being able to check out this awesome museum!!)

Absolutely amazed by the varieties of the live-sized animal displays. Excellent work. The owner was absent because he was in the north working as a hunting guide. A very nice lady was there to show me the place. Had a fun visit to the maze made of cedar trees.

We specifically stopped on our way from Christina Lake to Osoyoos at the Alpine Taxidermy & Wildlife Museum in Grand Forks. Unfortunately nobody was there so we moved on. What we can say is that this place has a very nice location and it looks great from the outside.

The only tragedy is that this is only listed as the #8 best thing to do in Grand Forks. Give your head a shake Trip Advisor.

Finally got to visit this place, after driving by for years! Well worth the minor detour on your route, amazing animals from all personal the world, not just Canada. Pity we didn't get to meet the owner, but we're able to talk to his grandson - the next owner!!!

Called in on our way from Osoyoos to Nelson. We were totally astonished by the size and qualty of the display. The owner was more than happy to give us an informative walk through. Well worth the couple of minutes detour off the highway.

Stopped by... Door was open... No one was around... Walked through took a bunch of great pictures! Great handy work and amazing quality workmanship! Wish the owner could have been there to walk us through and give us details on the mounts. Very worth the stop!
