Not much to do besides shop and be in a hotel room. All their listings for activities are in summer for parks, and camping. Lots of stores are closed and the price of eating out is through the roof! With the exchange, the prices of goods and services are more than they are in Canada. The deals at visitGrandForks really are not worth it, and half the stores weren't even open.

The GEM Rheatre is the perfect small town theatre. Privately owned, and recently rennovated with plush new seats, the GEM shows first run films. It also has a thrust stage, and is used for live entertainment as well.

This theatre is the step back in time, purchase tickets outside by the entrance, pass your money (cash only) thru the slot , speak to the man from the speaker in the glass.
The concession stand area is small but has great popcorn.
Walking inside it certainly brings back memories from the days before multi plex cinemas !
The seats have been replaced due to my understanding of the recent flooding, they certainly add to a modern feel, even cup holders, lol !
It is evident this is a small family run business, they are very friendly and welcome people ! !
Will certainly come back on our next visit.

We love this theatre and make a point to take visitors and family there often so they can enjoy a current show or some unique entertainment! Never a dull moment and the popcorn is topped with REAL butter! Go a little early to soak up the nostalgia!

Out of date. Small screen, uncomfortable seats, but friendly staff. Popcorn OK. Wheel chair accessible. Only movie house for 100 km.

Reminded me of growing up in the 60's. Staff are very friendly and not a phone in sight in the cinema

I love this movie theatre, and drive the 110 km round trip as often as possible, to enjoy the movie, and connect with Marius and Maureen, the delightful owners.

Located in downtown Grand Forks, BC is the family owned theatre. It is the only theatre in Grand Forks, but they get in up to date and trending movies.
They even have some couple seats to cuddle in, or if you are a larger lad like me to be able to sit in it comfortably.
Being in a small town, it is appreciated if you bring your garbage up to the front to throw away so that they can keep cost lower by not having to clean up after you.
The are capable of showing 3D and up to date formats.
Friendly and hospitable staff.

Lovely, lovely family run theatre the couple who own it are truly sweet. Get an ice cream cone or tea and popcorn with real butter and lots of toppings.
A total must treat! Good movie choices and double wide seats (a few) .
