- Bob W3 contributionsFantastic. The campsite was beautiful and the proximity to the river was awesome. Even when the camp area was full it was quiet and private. The bathrooms and showers were clean and easily accessible. The hot springs were exceptionally clean and never felt crowded. The two temperatures for the pools was a nice feature. As I told the friendly staff, we will be back.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten June 13, 2024
- Happy camperCalgary, Canada23 contributionsNice spot to take a breakLast minute stop and pleasantly surprised. Perfect spot to hike and go for a soak. Beautiful scenery while soaking in the pool. We stayed in the non serviced campground and had a nice spot where we could walk back and forth to the pools. Staff was very friendly and informative. We’ll be back!Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten August 20, 2024
- DadeoSpokane Valley, Washington4 contributionsNice place but getting there not so good, camp ground is tight and can be muddy. Was a nice visit, we camped and enjoyed the 30A power. Walk to hot pool in less than 5 mins up hill so might take a bit more if you’re not able to walk well. Staff was helpful, no life guard so you got to hope that parents watch thier kids from over playing themselves. Not very accommodating for trailers rough tighter and muddy campground when it rains, i am smaller 23 foot truck camper so no issue for me but was happy i didn’t tow anything up there. We drove the west road up and east road out and both were NOT great, very unkept bumpy and slow (less than 60k is best). I think the road in and out will make this my only visit sadly. I am just spoiled with Radium Hot Springs or Fairmont being so polished in comparisonVisited September 2024Travelled with friendsWritten September 15, 2024

We really enjoyed camping at Nakusp Hot Springs. It was a lot of fun to be able have access to the hot springs on the campground.
We did book a spot on the river, but didn’t realize there was quite a large embankment, so you aren’t really ‘on the river’. If you prefer shade, it seems better treed on the river side and if you prefer sun, I’d recommend booking the sites across from the river side, as you get better sun on that side. We stayed in a powered site, though they also have non-powered and tent sites available.
There are a couple nice hikes at the campground. One does require a car/ride to be arranged at the other end to get back to the campground as it is a 8.5km one way (you could hike back though). We did come across a black bear on our hike, so be bear aware.
The staff were very friendly. I’d recommend this campground.

We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the surrounding amenities that the Nakusp Hot Springs have to offer. Being located in the mountains we are surrounded by nature, and those that live there and call it home. Wildlife, bears, moose, deer and elk are some of the regular habitants around this area. It is always good to have a plan, to let people know where you are going, and to pack out what you pack in.
We hope to see you again! #RelaxRefreshReturn

We were staying in Nakusp and had hoped to hit all the hot springs around, but pandemic wasn't letting that happen. Halcyon was closed to guests only, the natural ones which we were really hoping to get to was closed due to bacteria, but thankfully these were open with some restrictions!
The location is lovely, there's gander waterfall on the way and it's awesome, and the the temp for the pools was decent. You must sign in prior to going because of capacity, but once in, it's a nice soak-bit too chemically in our opinion for a hot spring, but appreciated none the less.
My only issue was a very very smelly 'service dog'? That was allowed in the pool area was a major turn off.

We are happy to hear you were able to join us for a soak during the pandemic. This has been a challenging time for all businesses and we appreciate your understanding and patients while we all adjust to new protocols in order to remain open to the public.
We did not detect the unpleasant odor of the guide dog but we did ensure that it was a certified guide dog before allowing the party access to the pool area. Under the B.C. pool regulations we are expected to provide access to certified guide dogs in areas where all other dogs are not allowed in order to provide access for people with disabilities. Of course we did not allow the dog in the water as you can sometimes encounter at undeveloped/wild hot springs. It is a very rare situation that you experienced at our pools and we hope you will visit us again.

Hadn't been for a few years. Wife and I decided to go up in mid winter because thats when we would enjoy the heat the most. As before the place was clean and the staff was great. The several feet of snow was perfect and the temperature was just righ hovering around 0. Nice hike thru the sno to the bridge. Had a great time

The views were stunning, the staff wasn’t the friendliest and our room was dirty! Given the time we are living in we had expected to feel like it had been well cleaned, not just that the linens had been replaced. I actually had to get on my hands and knees and wash the floors because our feet turned black within minutes of walking around. It was disgusting. I do wish I took photos. This place is extremely over priced for the amenities it offers. They also advertise as this place being pet friendly...and although your pet is allowed inside.. it is with restrictions. They are now allowed in the room alone. So if you go to the pool your dog has to be tied up outside or left in your vehicle or want to go somewhere for dinner You have to take them with you into town and figure something out. Needless to say, the trip was a waste on money. If you are willing to spend 200 a night I would highly recommend you just book with Halcyon which is a little bit down the road!

Thank you Nicole199104 for bringing this to our attention, and taking the time to provide your honest review.
We are pet friendly, however, with the age of the Chalets the walls aren't completely sound proof. Sometimes dogs whine or bark while their owners are not around (inconsistently or consistently). Our request to not leave a dog or pet inside while you are at the pools soaking or gone for dinner is more about respecting the noise levels for other guests.
We are sorry to hear about the cleanliness in the Chalet that you stayed in, please know we will look into this. We would like to extend our deepest apologizes, and thank you once again for bringing this to our attention

Cheap price at $16.50 per adult.
However, the change room showers were out of order, so everyone had to use the 1 washroom to shower. Also, the hot springs are quite small and can easily get crowded (though the people offer interesting conversations).
This is a basic intro to hot springs. You get what you pay for, but Haycion offers better everything.

Access to the pool was restricted by number of people. One hour sessions. Must have reservations. Travelled during COVID. Many of the guests in the pool were impaired and loud which tarnished the experience. the pool was just that, a warm pool. Place needed more maintenance. Didn't feel super clean in the dressing rooms. Take a lock for your locker. Done it once, won't be back.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We are sorry to hear that your experience with us was not the best. Operating business during COVID has proven difficult, I believe for most. For the Hot Springs it has taken portions of the relaxation out of the experience. Especially if you were sharing a small space with loud people, we do apologize for this.
We do hope to see you again in the future, however, can understand if you choose not to return.

Stayed one night at the rv park/campground. Park had some nice locations. Easy pull ins. Unfortunately bathrooms were not clean, I get they’re public areas but there was paper towel all over the floors, garbages were overflowing. Paper towel in the ladies bathroom remained empty for our 12 hour stay. Garbages in the bear proof bins were overflowing inviting bears to come visit as well.

They ignored the covid capacity limit of 50 and guests didn’t wear masks in the change room or lobby. When we entered the pool, we found we were #s 52, 53& 54. 10 more people got in after us. The place was packed and there was no room to social distance. It was an expensive 5 minutes.

We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that you were unsatisfied with your experience. We are diligent about following COVID mandates, and have made an extra effort to track the number of people in the pools. No system is perfect and all humans make mistakes from time to time. This is the first complaint we have received regarding over capacity in the pools, and it is unfortunate that it occurred during your visit. From a safety perspective, the chlorine in the pools is very effective at disinfecting people and preventing the spread of all viruses. We hope that this isolated incident did not result in any sickness to you or anyone else.

Hot Springs were good. Campground is old, sites are not level and disorganized. Booked a week and had to move sites partway through because site was booked. No one occupied the site we vacated. Lots of sites were empty so move was not necessary. Campground has no sani dump in spite of the lodges, main building and washroom s having running water and sewer. sanidump is 24 km down the twisting mountain road.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. During COVID we have had to adjust a number of business practices to accommodate the changing Provincial Health Orders. Summer 2021, we were able to open the campground, however, we could not allow every site to remain in operation. This was to help reduce the amount of people staying onsite using the Hot Spring Pools as we are limited to the amount of people we can have in the pool. The Nakusp Hot Springs Chalet and Campground operates on a septic system, which services the main facility, the 8 chalet units and the campground washroom. Unfortunately, this is all our septic system can handle.
We are sorry that your reservation was interrupted by a move within the campground.

We spent a few days in the area, and spent time soaking in several hot springs. The Nakusp Hot Springs was the highlight, and the time that evokes the feeling of Lets go back and do this again! We went in the evening, dark outside with lights on here and there, snow falling on my shoulders and warm warm water to relax in...ahhhh. The change rooms and showers were spotless. This experience certainly played a part in us having the most relaxing and restful holiday ever.

What is the difference between a dip and an all-day pass? Well, really, what is a “dip”? I know what an all-day pass is. :)
Written September 1, 2019

A dip can also be described as a single swim, meaning you paid to come swim 1 time, after you leave if you wanted to come back into the Springs on the same day you would have to pay again. Where as a day pass, allows for multiple swims through out the day.

Is there any where at all at the hot springs to buy food? We will not be stopping in the town but driving right up to the hot springs. I am bringing a bus of 23 seniors there on Thursday April 11th. I think I might tell them to bring their own eats!!

I would check on Drive BC for road conditions, and come over when you have a good weather window.
The Nakusp Hot Springs are fantastic in the winter months. The scenery is enhanced with snow covered mountain tops and trees. The mushroom capped rocks in the creek are pretty cool too! And as always, the water is amazing!

Google maps says it is 675km from the Vancouver airport to the Nakusp Hot Springs. It estimates a 7 1/2 hour drive. You may want to leave more time in winter conditions.

The Hot Springs is 12km from the town of Nakusp. The pools and facilities are known to be some of the cleanest in Canada. We have a campground with RV and tenting sites and campground washrooms with running water and hot showers. There are also change rooms with washrooms and showers at the pools facility.

Can someone tell me more about the campground. How far is it from the resort - walking distance or does one have to drive, cleanliness and also distance off the highway. We have never been there before
Written September 8, 2016
It's all walking distance to the hot springs, if that's what you mean by "resort." Not far at all to walk.
The bathrooms to shower are even closer, and more central to everyone.
It's a 10km drive from the highway, but pretty fun.
It's pretty clean. I was surprised, but bring flip flips for the shower.
