Elephant Island began as a family haven, a place of summer picnics, orchard adventures and magical holidays on the Naramata Bench. Today the elephant has grown into a 6,000 case winery driven to craft wines of character. Wines that sing with the unconventional voice of vanguard fruit. Wines that are balanced by a reverence for traditional winemaking practices. Wines that are rooted and inspired by family history.

We chose to visit just because we loved the name. And so glad we did. What a hidden gem. Even though we didn't have an appointment, Jen was gracious and welcoming. We loved their different approach to wine making, especially with the fruit wines. Excellent visit, thank you so much.

What a beautiful spot, and lovely wine! We made a short stop here, and so glad we did! I chose the grape wines. What a beautiful wedding venue it would be!

Great little tucked away family operation. Setting is charming (no sweeping view but very cozy well arranged courtyard), great variety of products, very personalized service. Absolutely lovely experience.

Their orchard wines are very, very good.
Kristin was really knowledgeable and offered a great tasting experience. Both their grape and orchard wines are delicious. Their Stellaport (Cherry Port-style wine) is amazing. Buy it.
Must-visit if you're in Penticton/Naramata.

We absolutely loved their fruit wine here! It is a very different tasting but it was really good. We did the regular grape wine tasting and their fruity one, it was all so good. I can't wait to come back again!

Excellent experience at Elephant Island. Our server, Grace was charming, knowledgeable, and funny. Will ABSOLUTELY be back. Our group left with 13 bottles. Thanks, Grace!

This was the last winery of the day & the best one out of all the other ones we had visited that day. It’s so quaint & inviting, the patio is so cute. Our server was excellent & very knowledgeable. We had the fruit wine flight & we all left with a bottle of the crab apple wine. The service was excellent

I hate to leave a negative review for a place that would ordinarily have gotten 5 stars from me, but the COVID-19 precautions here are literally non-existent. Not a single server was wearing a mask, and when I inquired politely to the host about whether or not there have been changes to their protocols since the pandemic outbreak, she looked at me as though I had 3 heads and said "we wash our hands.. and use the dishwasher to clean the dishes" - as though that shouldn't have already been the case! I really felt unsafe here and ended up not partaking in the tasting. Disappointing because many other wineries in the area (Lake Okanagan Breeze, Red Rooster) have all stepped up and have servers wearing masks, face shields, and have introduced significant cleaning protocols. There's no excuse for behaving irresponsibly in a time like this, and I would recommend going elsewhere if you are visiting wineries this summer.

I love there wines and always go back. It’s the favorite part of our trip. I was disappointed that only one person working there was wearing a mask. I believe they all should for their protection and would hate to see them shut down for someone testing positive.
