Elephant Island began as a family haven, a place of summer picnics, orchard adventures and magical holidays on the Naramata Bench. Today the elephant has grown into a 6,000 case winery driven to craft wines of character. Wines that sing with the unconventional voice of vanguard fruit. Wines that are balanced by a reverence for traditional winemaking practices. Wines that are rooted and inspired by family history.

Visited for a wine tasting and opted for the fruit wines. The black current was especially good. This is the last year they are producing their port - it is fabulous. Also enjoyed their pear cider - crisp and dry. Worth a drive up the...More

Elephant Island is one of the best tasting experience on the Bench! Delicious wines, fruit wines and ciders. Beautiful land and patio, breath-taking view, lovely staff, kid's corner. Buy a pic-nic or bring your own. Must go!

Elephant Island is an atypical winery in a countryside populated by uncharacteristic wineries. They are on the same road as Deep Roots, though the latter is easier to access. Little did we know that Deep Roots would be forgettable and Elephant would stick with us…despite...More

Typically, we are not consumers of fruit wines, but that changed after sampling the wines at Elephant Island. We purchased the very popular Black Currant wine, the Pear wine, and the very tasty, Crabapple wine. The service was fantastic and the winery was the only...More
