Starting off the briefing in the morning was very well organized and I really appreciated the emphasis on safety. However a big drawback despite I clearly stated in the morning when checking in that I would love to be be in the most advanced/expert/experienced/professional group I was placed in the beginner group! As I noted this and mentioned to the guide he ignored the comment saying all gets better. Apparently it did not change, as I mentioned my frustration again that a) group is not ‘expert’ b) selected runs are quite disappointing the first run was ~~300hm, the second one was longer though the third one as only half of the second ~300hm all rather flat and not at all spectacular despite best conditions.
During the joint lunch with the other groups with quite some resistance I could change the group from there it got much better though not the scale I expected – the very last run we did was what I would have imagined at least for every run.
Feedback provided was not at all appreciated rather ignored and passive aggressive addressed with comments 'why you make a mess in front of the group' (Note comments were made to the guides in private NOT in front of the group) or ‘you may go heliskiing to Alaska’
Overall this was not an great experience at all. In the hindsight that this was likely one of the best days in terms of conditions, clear sky, low avalanche risk hence it is even more disappointing.
In addition no pictures were shared post the skiing despite promised in the morning.
Funniest thing to charge for an additional run, yes I did 6 runs though of the ‘3’ runs prior to lunch only one was a proper one the two other ones either super short of half a run.

2 great runs out of 5. I was expecting to ski wide open deep powder but we spent most of our times looking for trails between tight trees. Not really what I expected from heli skiing.
The 2 runs that we did in deeper powder were phenomenal, I wish we could have skied there all day. Most of the group seemed disappointed as well with the choice of terrains skied at times

If the guide would take us wherectere is nice snow. Also not throwing my skis onto the metal basket. I had a big chunk on the upper ski missing, it is just cosmetic but still, skis are expensive and I try to take card of them.

This time we have been a group of 5 and we had the best day at Rk Heliski ever. I visit RK since 1995, 3 years in a row now. The weather looked not so nice,
thats why we skied in the lower tree's in a foot+ new snow. Rod , the head guide, is our favorite instructor. We had a great time.
For all guys complaining about some short runs : We always get a FREE run, if we got some weather related shorter run's.
Thank you RK team, we see you back next year, we can't wait !!!!!!!!!!

These guys are the best! Skied with them for three days in semi-private format. Mike Koppang and Graham holt were the guides and they were great. Very personable, knowledgable and knowed how to show 9 experienced skiers a good time. They adapt the expeince to the weather. Bad conditions, more tress, good conditions higher elevations and more open skiing. First day was a variety, second, and third day were beautiful and did laps in the higher elvations. Hoots and hollers all around. I can't say enough about this team. Great value as well. Trying to fgure out how to get back next year.

Best Canadian hospitality experience for our Jan 23 trip. Clare from RK came to our rescue and collected us off the side of the road after our vehicle had broken down just outside Radium. She settled our nerves re. the car and despite us being late the team behind the front desk were extremely helpful, got us kitted up and ready to do the briefing in a short time. Guides TJ and Blake were awesome, very knowledgeable and dealt calmly with the mountain conditions and customers of all ski ability. We would have loved to stay for beers and debrief but had a vehicle to deal with - luckily Blake from behind front desk was able to drive us back to town and get things sorted. What a great team and location you have
Not to mention amazing powder. Awesome experience, Thanks!

I’ve been skiing for the last 30 years and had the best ski day of my life with RK! Waist deep powder through glades with plenty of features to pop and drop off! Mike was an amazing guide and kept us smiling for 9 runs. It’s going to be tough to top this day for me. Every aspect and personnel from the front staff, kitchen and guides were fun, positive and so accommodating. Thank you for such an incredible experience RK!

Everything was just perfect. The lodge is super comfortable, you can get delicious food even on the way in the helicopter (banana bread!). The guides are super friendly and competent and are always there for you. You always feel safe and in good hands. I can only recommend everyone to give it a try!

They did not take care of my belongings. Some of my personal belongings that had great value and importance to myself as well as a large dollar value were actually broken in the hands of the staff when I wasn't looking and they refused to pay for the belongings that they broke and were extremely rude about it to me. The staff was all over the place. A few questions I asked several staff members and some were mean, others were clueless or indecisive and most annoyingly I got several different answers. I witnessed some staff handling my belongings when they thought I was not looking and I did not want them handling those items. On top of all of this, the guides are some of the crudest human beings I have ever met. The entire trip they were swearing, shouting unnecessarily, talking about very inappropriate things and just made the entire experience less fun. I hope to see Rk Heli improve for the future as the snow was good and I believe that the entire experience should be great, not just what the weather is responsible for. Step it up.

How far in advance must I book for a mid February (mid-week, post President’s Day) 1-day excursion for three? Prefer to understand snow cover and book perhaps 1-2 wks in advance. But don’t want to be shut out. Thanks!
