We just got back from our 4 day Orca Camp trip and it sure was one of those amazing "once in a lifetime" experiences! After beautiful sunshine filled days filled with 5 Orca sightings in a single day (in addition to the Eagles, Sea Lions, Humpback Whales and lots of Porpoises), we got a nice send-off on Thursday during breakfast... I went for a 6 day kayak Orca watching adventure up in Johnstone Straight. All details were handled by Kim in the office : airfare, shuttle pick-up, hotel ,diet concerns. All emails answered the following day ! It was all I expected and even my forgotten dream of an Orca swimming under my kayak came true!! ( not planned) .... More

Inspite of the worst weather of the summer, our guides managed to make our experience somehow more amazing. We booked out the camp, so were all friends which was super fun. Some of us had flown in from ON, the rest were from BC. We suited up, layered up, put on hats and managed the rain. Bill's whale watching before... More

My wife and I have returned to Ireland following a 3 week vacation on Vancouver Island. One of the highlights was a 6-day “Kayak with Orcas” trip we took with Ecosummer Expeditions, Aug 25th-30th. It is based in a beach-side camp near Robson Bight, a marine reserve in Johnson Strait, on the NE corner of the island. Day 1 began... More

Me and my wife joined the ecosummer crew at the orcacamp, near the Robson Bight, together with 8 other very fun guests from Zwitserland, Ireland and the USA. Totally agree with Marshas review above. We had an amazing time. We were welcomed by the orcas as we arrived by watertaxi on the beach at camp. Throughout the next 3 days... More

Just returned home to the U.S.A. from Ecosummer Camp, in beautiful B.C. Took my daughter on 4 night/3 day trip for her 16th Birthday. Every part of the trip was unbelievable. The first day was spent on a whale watching boat out of Port McNeil and our guides were exceptional! On this trip, our first day we saw, sea otters,... More

My 2 sons and myself took a 3 night tour last summer with Ken and Steve as guides. Fabulous trip, great whale sightings, Glamping, (glamous camping), was clean, comfortable, and relaxing, and the food.....the food.....best salmon and birthday cake I have ever tasted.... never mind that it was cooked in the open on the beach. The next day we had... More

I grew up in a city in the middle of Canada. I never "sought out" an ocean kayaking trip, but it was a happy day when I found myself launching off a water taxi and on to the pebbled shores of Warden Beach for a 3-night guided sea kayaking tour with Ecosummer. First: the setting Secluded - check Pristine -... More
