Customer service was dismal!!
Mar. 2021 • Friends
Drove from Terrace to do a day of skiing it takes 2 and half hours each way to drive. Bought my lift ticket at 10:37 am and they shut the hill down at 11:45 am, due to high winds at about 40km hour (a bit breezy).

Don’t bother making the trip to the mountain if you see any winds over 35km an hour. I wish I could have uploaded a video of the light breeze of the wind that was at the top.

When I asked for a refund and I told them my situation they gave me a half day snow cheque that I must use by end of year.

So a word of wisdom, ski Shames mountain if you live west of Smithers or if you live in Prince George go to Powder King Resort.

Not A Reliable Slope
Feb. 2020 • Friends
I enjoy skiing Hudson Bay. It is however not a great option for planning a long week trip since the mountain doesn’t operate due to lack of business but claiming high winds to be the culprit. We didn’t notice any wind on February 5, 2020 while hiking the mountain. They claimed the same on February 4, 2020. The four of wasted two days of our trip in Smithers based on misrepresentation of the mountain for being open during the week and the same about the weather.

Summer Time Visit
Aug. 2019
This is not advertised for summer traffic but it should be. We went up in August on a clear day and the scenery along was worth it. The road is paved to start and then gravel. Watch for logging trucks, but the road is wide and no issues. We drove up to the top and walked around. There is a great marked hike to waterfalls, about 1 hour each way.

Getting the grandkids up on skiis
Jan. 2019 • Family
Stayed in a charming log cabin with family. Friendly for kids. Ski instructors turned nervous youngsters into skiers in less that 90 minutes.
Lovely variable terrain.

Brilliant hidden gem
Feb. 2019 • Couples
Skied here on way to Terrace, only 3 lifts but great groomers and untracked powder. It's a welcome change from the big expensive resorts

Hidden gem
Dec. 2018 • Friends
It seems to me that this hidden gem is a secret to all but the locals.
An excellent ski hill with two t bars and one chair lift (at least that were open when we were there).
There was hardly anyone there on a weekday and we skied to the lifts without any waits. Great long runs and awesome snow conditions. Many long runs and forested trails. There is a ski rental shop at the lodge. Not the best equipment I’ve ever had but certainly adequate. The lodge doesn’t offer breakfast but had an excellent lunch special and, of course a good lounge. We loved the resort and highly recommend it!

Breathtaking view
Dec. 2017 • Family
I have been up on the mountain many times in the summer hiking. The views are gorgeous but in the winter while skiing, there is nothing like it.

I'm not much of a downhill ski person but I have gone up there and taken a lesson with my daughter. The price was really good in my opinion.

There were very short line-ups to get on the Tbar. I didn't try the chairlift.
The staff were awesome, very friendly and helpful.

This is the most incredible Skiing I have ever had. The powder is so fluffy and the runs are in excellent condition. Well groomed and very nice people working there. Helpful and patient.

Came for the park, was blown away how awesome the whole hill was!

We had heard rumours that Hudson Bay was rocking the best terrain park north of sunpeaks and we were not disappointed! The park had everything we wanted and more. Perfect lines for progression from beginner up to advanced. The park crew was super chill and helpful and the locals were absolutely shredding. Hoping to travel back again this weekend to play in the park and maybe even try the slush cup!

Nice and cozy ski resort!
Dec. 2017 • Family
Hudson Bay Mountain has a lot to offer for the family! 36 runs, 2 t-bar, 1 triple chair,
No line-ups, beautiful view of the valley.
Friendly staff and decent price for a day ticket or Flex pass.
Make sure you check the options for Flex pass, they are interesting.
The T-Bar is often open despite the cold weather, so for the Hardcore skier, you can still crank up the turns at -25 degrees! yeah!!!! dry snow!
