This is an interesting place to walk, sun, and swim. The rapidly moving water can be very shallow, or deep. It is dangerous and swimmers need to be strong and confident. That said, I've been swimming there for decades, and my 4 daughters grew up visiting when we visited Comox almost every summer. The past few years it's been closed due to a dispute between the owners and regulators. This summer we were not able to visit due to the closing of the Canadian boarder for recreation purposes. This is private land. The falls are closed by owner. My bf and I went last year and had a blast, but this year anything past the bridge is closed. Please keep this in mind if you are thinking of visiting the falls. We have been recommended Nymph falls as an alternate spot in the area.…

Take a couple of hours out. It's only 15mins easy drive from courtenay. Free to park and enter. Wade across the cool shallow river coming off the glacier, to rocky platforms and relax in the sunshine or sit in one of the many natural plunge pools for your own. View the waterfalls and have fun in the water. Be careful of the rapids at the waterfalls though.…
