I have gone on many charters in my life and have never been with a guide who still has the enthusiasm for catching fish the way Captain Mike does. His enthusiasm for fishing is contagious, especially for our kids. We had continual fish on the line and cannot wait to have a chance to go out with him again.

A great experience! Capt Mike had us on the Hot Spots for fish right out of the gate. Our group was mixed with many unsure of fishing or going out on the boat. Once the first fish was on, my entire group was on their feet with excitement. In between fish, we watched for wales, eagles, seals and enjoyed the amazing landscape. The Boat was perfect for the 5 of us, and was well maintained and had a bathroom. Great work Haida Gold Team!

Capt Mike was gracious, and gave us all the time needed to complete the scattering of my husband's ashes. At all times, we felt safe, and more importantly the accessibility of the boat allowed my 89-year-old father-in-law to come along. At the right place, the engine was stopped and we drifted a little, and had a peaceful moment to say our good-byes. I just want to say thank you for helping through a difficult day.

Great trip! My three sons and two grandchildren really enjoyed fishing with Captain Mike. They said he was full of information and had a great personality. The salmon tasted great and was enjoyed by the entire family. The next time we are back we wa t to try one of their sightseeing trips!

My mother in law has lived on Vancouver Island for 20 years, directly across from Maude Island . When we found out it was her wish to visit this uninhabited island we called to ask for a custom surprise experience to Maude Island. Kristi did her research and found out it was a protected island and it was possible to actually disembark the boat to hike the island !!!

We recently enjoyed a sunset cruise with Haida Gold Ocean Adventures. Being on the water is an amazing way to experience the breathtaking scenery of the Pacific Northwest. Captain Mike was not only a capable captain, but he was an informative, considerate and entertaining host as he navigated around the Salish Sea. We dropped anchor in a sheltered bay to relax over a picnic supper and enjoy the views. Mike set a steady but relaxed pace on our way back to allow us to marvel at the gorgeous sunset. With the sky's ever changing hues of gold, orange, pink and lavender set against the backdrop of the coastal mountains, we were awestruck! Thank you to both Mike and Kristi for giving us such a memorable experience.

Haida Gold was a good experience for us - an excellent afternoon on a picnic cruise with Captain Mike. Christy had set us up in advance, so we knew how to prepare and what to bring, which was really helpful in reducing the load to carry on. There were 4 of us and we could have been more, but for four the space was good and we could relax and stretch out. We were lucky with wind and weather, and steamed out to Balenas Islands and then stopped for our picnic lunch. We were is a very still location, very calm and with the sun and calm water it was a beautiful afternoon. Mike chatted to us, gave us information when we had questions about our voyage, but gave us the space to talk when we wanted. If you do consider a cruise with Haida Gold (which I would recommend), do check the FAQ's, and ask any questions before the day, to be sure you are ready. Hard to fix something after you arrive at the dock or, even worse, are out on the water. Prep for cool and warm - it can be hard to predict, depending on wind and sun.

Thank you Captain Mike for your knowledge of the islands and Salish Sea, and for just making our day fun and memorable!
We had the most amazing day this past July 31!
Repeat customers here.
Our kids surprised us with the most stunning Sunset Cruise last summer.
We knew we needed to get back out on the water, so this year we booked a day cruise to Jedediah island. We walked til our feet hurt, exploring most of the island. We ate our lunch out on a cliff overlooking the Salish Sea.
And I believe we made it to each little hidden beach as well as the old Homestead.
Jedediah is such a Gem that has been preserved for future generations to enjoy and explore!
We are hoping to go back one day and camp overnight, to sleep under the stars.
Thank you Mike and Kristi for sharing such a magical place with us and for your passion as hosts!

Amazing, absolutely amazing ! The views were spectacular and the fishing was so much fun. Mike is an awesome captian and host.

I chartered Captain Mike & Haida Gold for a birthday sunset cruise. Cap Mike is very personable, professional & has a great sense of humor. Our group were all local & seasoned sailors & Cap Mike was very accommodating to our special requests. He made a special stop at Ballenas Islands, cut the engine & we just floated in the bay for awhile. Special memories for myself. It goes without saying that the water was perfect, the views & of course sunset were amazing. If you would like a truly memorable experience this is the charter company for you. I have already shared our experience with friends whom say they will be in touch with Haida Gold. The cruise experience was the icing on my lemon cake.

Mike. Kristi. I'm on Marina Way in nanoose bay and have a winery owner who's hosting a winemakers dinner saturday night as part of Parksville Uncorked. He and I normally fish trout in Kamloops and the Okanagan but he asked if there were salmon around (there are) and if there was someone who could get us out there Saturday morning for four hours. We both must be back to attend the wine events.
If youre available, we would need to know costs. Sorry for the late notice. Just two guys dreaming of dropping a line.
