Captain Stephen is very knowledgable, passionate and proud of his job. On the tour we went to salmon farms, we saw a few lighthouses, cliffs, coves. We met seals, whales, and watched how captain was feeding birds. It was unforgettable experience! Stephen is 5th generation islander, he was a professional fisherman for about 15 years , the same as his... More

In addition to the beautiful scenery you learn a lot about the history of the fishing industry on Grand Manan and its current status from a sixth generation Grand Mananer -- modern salmon farming and deep sea lobster fishing as well as the herring weirs only slightly evolved from those used by the Passamaquoddy Indians, the first inhabitants of Grand... My wife and I loved Grand Manan and will return(the highlite of our visit was the tour). Captain Robinson was very informative, very safe and wonderful with the young children on our tour. We were extremely comfortable on the spaciousness upper deck of the boat. We learned a many interesting facts about the island, its history, and the ecology. The... More

Absolutely the best boat tour we went on. We had been on a couple boat tours in Cape Breton, but this one was definitely the best. We toured around the island and learned about salmon farms, herring weirs and lobsters. Our tour guide was fantastic. We were fortunate to see a beautiful Humpback up close and personal. We had an... His boat is comfortable and he is full of facts about the fishing industries, history, marine life, and geology that exists in the waters. His family has been involved in all aspects of island life... More

We were in Grand Manan last week and we just happened on this booth that advertised boat tours. We asked about what kinds of tours he had and he said he was doing a sunset tour that night and he had room if we were interested. We took a chance and we were very happy that we did. Stephen(the owner)... More

Steven's family has lived on Grand Manan Island for many generations. When you combine his local knowledge with a wonderfully maintained and comfortable boat you end up with an engaging and informative tour. We took a sunset tour. Steven's boat accommodates 12 although we only had 6 on our tour including a couple from the island. I says a lot... More

Well, Stephen is so charming that seeing whales becomes almost secondary to listening to his stories as a lobster fisherman, the sixth generation on the island! Today's prospects didn't look too good despite the occasional porpoise and minke whales and just as we were about to get back, a humpback played hide and seek with us for a good half... More
