Great trip out to see humpback whales in bay of Fundy. 90 minutes journey out to the right area, well worth it. Saw a group of 3-4 whales and some singles, blowing, diving, flukes and 'logging' (snoozing). Brilliant trip, also seals, porpoises, gannets, black guillemots, and surf scoter on the way.

A great interpretive tour with a great crew & Captain. Our guide wore a wireless headset and his voice was relayed thru speakers onboard so he could be heard. Lots of relevant information about the area, the fishery, the whales, sea birds, porpoises etc along the way. It was not just a "sit and watch" tour. I like knowing what I'm looking at and Glendan made that happen. We had a large group of 38 people on a nice big lobster boat so it was comfortable and stable. Lots of stowage under the bench seats on deck. Free coffee, tea, hot chocolate served on board (1st one is free, 2nd one is $1). There is a head (toilet) onboard for when nature calls. You do not pay unless whales are seen and when you're headed back to Port. Cash, credit or debit accepted as there is a POS terminal on board. We went about midway into the Bay of Fundy about 20 kmh from Nova Scotia and Grand Manan Island to find the humpbacks but we did find them and it was great! Definitely worth doing this tour. Take warm clothes as it's about 10 - 12°C cooler offshore!

We booked both a puffin tour and a whale watch, sadly, due to heavy fog the whale watch was cancelled.

Alec and his staff are very knowledgeable, and make your safety and comfort a priority.

Book early if you want to go on Machias Seal Island to see the puffins as only 15 visitors are allowed each day. The remaining passengers will circle the island in a dinghy and view the birds flying to and fro.

Seeing the puffins and other birds up close from a blind is spectacular. The hour+ to get to see them went by fast! Note - When they say it can get cold on the water, that’s true. Bring lots of layers.

I'm really not sure what to say, except that I am disappointed. We agreed to head out in foggy weather, and that was a mistake. We had a very rough ride, most of my party getting quite ill, despite taking prophylactic bonine tablets. We didn't get to enjoy any real experience viewing the puffins or seals, because of the weather. To be honest, I felt a little taken advantage of - like my money mattered more than my safety or experience.

If if I'd had a realistic expectation of what a crummy day I'd have, I would not have agreed to head out for the ride. We were out a total of 3.5 hours because of the rough waters, and felt like it was more of an adventure ride, and less of a pleasure cruise/bird watching experience.

I can't say that I'll be going back, which is quite a let down.

Safety is our #1 priority. We work very closely with coastguard to determine weather conditions on MSI before leaving. This particular day the weather was 8 knots SW with some fog. The captain warned everyone before leaving that it may be rough. He actually said if you didn’t have sea legs or were a sailer that he recommended to stay back. You had the opportunity to not go, but you chose to stay. Some people do not have sea legs and get sick, even on a calm day. Being aboard a vessel is an experience of its own. This is the ocean, not the river. As for your money, if you do not land ashore you were only charged HALF price. For you to say that we care more about money than peoples safety or experience than you do not know our company. We are sorry that you were seasick and your medications you took were not effective, however, this is out of our control. You say you were out a total of 3.5 hours due to the rough waters. This tour averages 4-5 hours. Your tour was shorter only because you didn’t land (which you were told you would not be landing before leaving). You also never mentioned to any of the crew aboard the vessel how you felt. Nor did you mention this during payment, or as you left. Instead you left us this review on Tripadvisor. Maybe if you would have mentioned your crummy trip, you may have had things explained and had a more discounted trip. Many others had an amazing tour this day and even sent us pictures they got of the puffins!

We took a tour with these people yesterday! What a mistake!! The captain obviously didn't care about safety! It was a sickening and scary ride and no view! They were not honest about what to expect on the trip! It was painful and scary and we didn't see a darn thing!! I wouldn't want to go again even if it was free! And I definitely wouldn't recommend for an older couple like us!! Such a shame... on my way out this morning I heard other people on the big ferry talking about how they couldn't believe how the tour boat dared to go out in that weather! Apparently it's the talk of the town today (I heard) someone called the coastguard to try to stop the tour!?

Any way I don't mean to go on a rant, but it wasn't what we expected to say the least and I won't be back!

Safety is our #1 priority. We take many factors into consideration before leaving for a tour. Before your tour left, everyone was made aware that due to safety it would not land ashore and that it may be rough seas. You chose to stay. Your comment about the ferry workers as well as coast guard are completely inaccurate as we work closely with coastguard. This particular day we spoke to MSI coastguard for a local weather update. The weather was 8 knots SW. Your comment about the big boat - Hundreds of fisherman were out this day and the waters were not even close to unsafe. You also did not mention any of this to any of the crew during or after your tour. Our boat is built for extreme weather and your safety aboard our vessel was never compromised. You may have made the wrong personal decision to stay aboard the vessel, but MANY others were absolutely thrilled and have sent us photos from their trip on this particular day. They got some amazing shots of the birds and were very happy to have had the opportunity to to go out.

Book as early as possible. For us, booking was done as soon as ticketing opened. We enjoyed the boat ride out to the island where we were shuttled to the blind to watch the puffins fly, fish and return to nests behind us. The experience was awesome. A Bird watchers paradise.

Our trip to Grand Manan was specifically to see the puffins. We knew that the weather may cause a cancelled trip but we risked it anyway.

It turned out fantastically. We saw hundreds of puffins, plenty of seals and even an Atlantic sunfish!

Don't be disappointed if you can't get a spot to visit the puffins on land, the skiff tour is just as amazing.

Some key points to know: you will have to spend the night on Grand Manan due to the ferry schedule, the trip takes over 5 hours and for afternoon trips make sure your dinner is planned as many of the restaurants close quite soon after you return.

The business is in the process of changing ownership as the current owner retires. They are taking the time to hand everything over properly so I have high hopes that the business retains its high quality.

As much as I wld have loved this tour I had to rate it a 3 due to the “new captain” He obviously is not a people person and needs to clean up his vocabulary !More training is needed from Peter.. who is handing over the business to alex(not sure as to his name)! We were Also squeezed in on the boat which made it slightly uncomfortable. I am sure it’s probably too early in the season to see that many whales however we did see some in the distance. Peter where are you?

If you are traveling long distance to see the Puffins, my recommendation is to not plan your trip around this. It took me two days to get to this location from Dubai with my camera equipment and it cost me a fortune. As my family and I were waiting in line at the ferry, this company canceled the tour due to rough water, even though it was a beautiful calm day. I won’t be making this attempt again!
