We came across Mirimachi history museum just by chance and admired the building from the outside before heading to see what it had to offer
The entry price was very fair and the staff were very helpful and willing to share a lot of what they knew.
The building goes back to 1897 and has a large collection of historical artifacts.. we were told that ‘it was one of the most unique museums in New Brunswick’
We were fascinated to learn about the wealthy of history on ship building in the area plus an added bono is to find that there is also a genealogy section. It was worth going .. however check times and dates of opening before you go as it is only open during summer months until September

Interesting array of Historical Items that relate to the region. They are in a newere building that has been excellently adapted to provide a good visitor experience. Operated by volunteers who do a great job.

Great experience of a well preserved room of artifacts and exhibits from Miramichi and beyond. Kids love it- with an 8 legged cat and 4 legged chicken on display is worth a visit in itself. Great tours given in the summer by local university students who are exceptionally knowledgeable of the historical significance of the artifacts and displays.

As a Miramichier, one can't help but be proud of their displays and preservation of Miramichi and surrounding region. Open all summer and a great way to spend an hour or so.

This museum had general history as well as natural history. We spent less than an hour. Things were well labeled, well organized, and clean. If you have roots in Chatham, you will find this interesting.
