Even though the day was cool, the tour was wonderful! Our guide was very informative and the captain took us to many scenic spots. We took so many photos!

We took this tour on Monday, Aug 28, and we were on the 11:00 tour. As you know, there is a 1.6 miles walk from the parking lot to the boat terminal. When we got to the parking lot, the weather was clearly bad - rainy and very foggy. When we got to the terminal building, this had not changed. You could barely see the lake. Yet, the tour company decided not to cancel the tour.

We got on the boat and sat inside, because of the rain and wind. It wasn't long before a lot of people moved inside. We could hardly see anything for the entire tour. The inside was packed. Most of the inside seating is bench seating, so when people with wet raincoats sat down, the water ran down the bench. We sat there, cold, miserable, wet, and crowded, for the entire tour.
I am attaching some photos to show how foggy it was, and how crowded the boat was.

The tour operators showed extremely poor judgement in running this tour - it should have been canceled. And the boat is very crowded. It is a small boat for 100 or so people. If you sign up for this tour, consider the weather. If it's rainy and foggy, you will be miserable and disappointed.

On the way back, the guide decided to play music! You're out in nature and they play music?!! That was also poor judgment.

We went on a beautiful 2 hour tour from Norris Point in Bonne Bay. It was an excellent tour with Captain Angus and Wayne and Charlie as first mates and tour guides. Funny, entertaining, informative and musical! Would highly recommend this trip.

We didn't do their boat tours but opted for their hike into the Tableland Mountains. That was amazing. The experience was like nothing other. The Tablelands are one of the oldest mountain ranges in North America. They are mostly barren and have all flat tops. Their colour is rust or orange which makes they stand out against the surrounding countryside.
Hiking here isn't easy as most of the mountain climbs are over broken rocks and through streams.
A real experience and worth a day for adventure seekers.

I took the Western Brook day hike tour Wednesday August 23rd/23 with BonTours and it was undeniably the best part of my trip to Grose Morne National Park. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I wasn't able to complete the Long Range Traverse. Fortunately, BonTours offers a guided hike to the picturesque vista of Western Brook pond. Truly, it is worth every penny! Their knowledgeable, enthusiastic guides are great company, sharing plenty of knowledge about the geological and biological diversity within the area. We were fortunate to have pristine weather, and a group of people with the right attitude. The hike will be a journey you'll remember for the rest of your life...with the most iconic view at the end of the trail. A must-do here in Western Newfoundland. Thank you BonTours for an epic adventure!

Took the Bonne Bay tour one afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyed the ride, the views and the commentary. Get their early to get an outside seat although inside was still a treat. I loved the personal anecdotes about the harbours and, of course, the all too brief musical performance near the end.

The absolute highlight of our trip to Newfoundland was the Western Brook Pond tour. Take lots of time to get there from the parking lot as there is a walk in. It is 3 km and mostly flat with conveniently located benches for a rest along the way.

The scenery is second perhaps only to Norwegian or hidden Pacific Coast fjords but so much more accessible and unexpected here.

A gentle stroll leads you to one of natures wonders.
We liked the tour of the lake,
It was informative and interesting.
Our one concern was how crowded the Boat was..there is ample seating for everyone, but if you were not in the first group on you are left with either standing or sitting at the stern amongst the diesel exhaust smells.
Was it worth the drive and hike yes

What a beautiful way to spend your time getting to know a bit about Bonne Bay, we had a prefect morning. The waters were smooth and the sun was shining. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable, we saw a bald eagle 🦅 and their nest. Also had the opportunity to see a whale as well. Oh and make sure to say hello to Charlie 😃So if you are in the neighbourhood make sure to checkout this Tour , you won’t be disappointed, I promise ❤️🇨🇦

Bon Tours offers an excellent tour of the Western Brook Pond. Allow yourself one hour to hike to the boat, arrive early and dress warm, as it gets windy and cold. Once on the boat, relax and enjoy the most glorious scenery on the park. Overall a great outfit.
