We love zodiacs as used to own own one back in the day. Shawna sent excellent instructions and 2 90hp Yamahas easily skimmed us and 10 others through the waters of Bonavista Bay south. Captain Chris was fabulous--knowledgeable, interesting and funny. He was a maestro...More

We loved our first trip so much we booked again. Another great day at sea with Kris. Didn't find the elusive sperm whales, but we encountered the same humpback, this time in bright sunlight, so the view was even better!

Small boat, with 7 people total. The ride was surprisingly smooth. We went out far with hopes of seeing sperm whales, but no luck. However, we could hear the whales on the hydrophone our guide used. After 1.5 hours, we turned around and thought maybe...More

This guy is in the right business for him and it shows. He loves doing what he does and he does it well. Even when everyone else told us there were no whales left in the ocean (insert sarcasm) this guy found us one to...More

I can wholeheartedly recommend Sea of Whales for a really high-quality experience. My wife and I have both been on whale-watching trips in other countries, but this was at a whole new level because it's a small boat which can take you really close to...More

We spent a great morning on the water with Kris. A great host, funny, entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. We even saw a whale before we got on the zodiac. Would definitely do it again and highly recommend it for anyone visiting Newfoundland.

A Sea of Whales Adventure was the highlight of our trip. Kris' passion for the ocean and its inhabitants is obvious in everything he says and does. His knowledge is amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better guide. We weren't even off the...More

There's really no better time of day for seeing whales as they are active all the time. Morning and evening trips sometimes offer calmer sea conditions. The best time is really whatever works in your schedule.
